The second part has already been filmed. So it's not really a second season, it's just because of the ridiculous broadcasting rules in China (no more than 40 episodes per drama or per season) they had to divide it into two parts. This was the same situation with LLTG, IS, BW, but after those aired and they continued the "season 2" broadcast immediately after "season 1", s0 they (the censorship board) added yet another rule than the "season 2" could not air before three months.

They recently added another rule where S2 cannot air until at least 12 months after season 1 (I read this doesn't apply to LYF because the S2 was already filmed and in the review process) and all episodes must be at most 45 minutes (this might be because TTEOTM and TLP had a few episodes which were almost 90 minutes.

Yes, but honestly, after the emotional turmoil this drama has put me through because of all the characters, I need something slow. A few weeks ago, someone said that MLC was their healing drama and it amused me a little then, but after watching a few episodes after this one I told them I agreed with them.

While I like MLC, I agree that it is slow-paced. I am at episode 21 (I think) and it's still like that.

Jing and XY get back together after XY is able to manipulate the situation by seducing Huo which makes FFYY jealous and they are able to get concrete evidence by recording Hou's and FFYY's conversation. However, CX helps Hou murder Jing. She refuses to believe he is gone and on the day the wedding was supposed to take place she wears the wedding dress to wait for him, but he never comes. Xiao Yao basically loses all will to live, to the point that when someone- (I can tell you who if you want) orders her assassination, she just lays there waiting for death until if I, remember correctly, she remembers her maid and doesn't want to be the reason she dies.

He expressed it so well. When Jing and FL fight and Jing has blood on his mouth and she touches him , CX's face almost made me cry. ZWY has been excellent throughout the whole drama.

If it makes you feel better, they might change that in the drama since it seems they are eliminating some episodes (?) I am not sure if that is true. And even if they stick to the novel, XL's parts have an impact.
