Noticed that too, since the beginning, always feel that they could have better editing. It’s like every ep only…
Yeah, it was especially bad in the first 4 episodes. I guess it's understandable to make it clear for those of us who haven't read the books but I can't imagine how boring it must be been for those who have
The pacing Episodes 18 and 19 is quite glacial; particularly Ep 18. Dunno if it's because they're taking the time to explain the scientific concepts but honestly the entire episode shouldn't have been dedicated to Ye Wenjie revealing to Wang Miao that the Red Coast Base was being used for SETI. There were so many things that could have been cut from that episode and it would still get the point across. Now that season 2 has been greenlit, I really hope they fix the pacing issues
I just find it interesting that the source of all this is just one article by an journalist attached to the New…
Of course, You're right. Fascist governments don't just die out but who will bell the cat? Cixin Liu probably just decided it wasn't going to be him. Most of those articles make reference to the New Yorker interview btw. I read them after someone talked about this issue on Twitter
I was trying to find more about the story and discovered that the author, Liu Cixin's novel has pro-authoritarian,…
I just find it interesting that the source of all this is just one article by an journalist attached to the New Yorker. Anyways, this issue isn't that black and white. He probably said what he was supposed to say given the current political climate. He's a very public figure living in China. His means of livelihood is tied to the favour of the Chinese government so I don't expect him to reveal any negative feelings he may have about the government's treatment of the Uyghurs. Some people just have to adapt to the situation they've found themselves in. He's probably not courageous enough to put himself and his entire family at risk by speaking out.
I find the reporter Mu Xing annoying and found out she is an original character for the show. She has many scenes…
You're not alone in find Mu Xing annoying. But I guess she's there to expand more on the ideological differences between Pan Han's faction of the ETO and Shen Yufei's faction. According to summary of the books I've read, he does something pretty significant to Shen Yufei in the book but it's a major spoiler and I don't know if you'd want to know that.
I'm watching episode 12 and I find it unbelievable and a bit hilarious that the teachers just allowed Wang Miao's daughter to leave the school with Shi Qiang whom she had never met before. He even tried to entice her with sweets if she goes along with him. Whatever happened to Stranger Danger? Or is this a play on the "Hey kid, want some candy?" meme
What are your favorite American Sci-Fi series? Im looking for something to watch with space/time travel and aliens
Dark. It's not American but a German series about time travel (probably the best show on time travel I've ever seen;no aliens though) It's available on Netflix
Is it just me or did they make Ye Wenjie past with her father’s death less impactful?
It's not just you. Who knows, they might expand upon it in later chapters. If not, it doesn't make her motivation for making contact with the Trisolarans convincing especially to people who haven't read the books
Just finished episode 2, It's much better than episode 1. I haven't read the books so I can't tell how much of an accurate adaptation it was but it's totally enjoyable.
I'm still very impressed with the score and background music (though I noticed some parts of the score reminded me of Ben Frost's score for Netflix's Dark).
I don’t really follow rules/guidelines much but may I ask what’s wrong with kiss scene again? Do you happen…
I doubt no 7 is true. A lot of red projects have been greenlit lately with traffic stars as the lead. Eg Wang Yibo 's new drama about the CCP with Li Qin. Also Dylan's patriotic republican era drama with Zhou Ye got it's license last month
Now that season 2 has been
greenlit, I really hope they fix the pacing issues
