Jang/Jang is Best Couple Forever

If you stop, you'll be missing some of the best parts. Trust me. I hate pain too, but this show is so well written that there is joy even in the pain.

Not even a little bit

I've seen Han Ye Seul before (Birth of a Beauty), but good grief she is WAY better here in just the first 2 episodes of this. The strength of presence she suddenly has is gripping, and her character has facets everywhere: lots of dignity, but at the same time plenty of humanity. In just one hour of tv, she built a character with facets everywhere. Cute, but cool. Confident, but vulnerable. Wise, but youthful. I'm eager to see more.

I've only ever given 2 10/10s and a small handful of 9.5/10s, and this is a 9.5. One of the easiest watches ever and incredibly smartly written. The story, the pacing, the cast, the music: all top-tier quality.

They're completely unrelated and roughly the same age. Not sure what the hang up is. Lots of romances in kdrama start with a childhood friend/adopted sibling thing. It's normal.

Some viewers have a tendency to be MORE likely to drop a highly-rated drama. Popularity bias.

A lot, yes. That is precious, adorable Park Jin Joo's entire character, pretty much, is just cursing.

It is rare for such a large cast to have so much chemistry together. Even the second lead female was awesome and lovable! How did they pull THAT off? This entire show was really just lightning in a bottle.

This is the rare mystery show that works on rewatch precisely because of SSR. Watching him do his thing doesn't get old.

Speaking from a guy's perspective, Nam Ji Hyun is one of the most attractive actresses in Korea. However, I'll admit that she's attractive precisely *because* she looks so different from all the supermodels that usually populate dramas. She seems more human and approachable.

Speaking of the unrealistic plot points, were you as confused and humored as I was about Jin Bae from I'm Not A Robot being able to see into the future for no reason?? :P

Good review! I rated it 9.5, but I understand some of your lower marks. I, too, was impressed with the female roles in this one: literally without exception they were well-written, intelligent, and respectable.

And Kang Ki Young is my bro! I love that guy! Welcome to his fan club. ;)
Although he won't be as physically attractive in it, I strongly recommend you check out his first ever pro acting gig, High School King of Savvy. That's where I became his fan, plus the show is sneaky awesome (just give the female first lead a few episodes to grow on you).
