So are you saying the Viki subs are bad because they have explanations for idioms? Why is it bad thing?
No. Not idioms - I used a bad example, but assumed we all knew what 'live up to your name' means. I'm talking about the unnecessary translation hints that have probably been cleaned up now by the English editor.
Right. Every now and then I have to say something about Viki. Apart from the stupid additional subtitle to announce themselves on every show... the English subs for this drama are total shit. They've added additional translations in parentheses to the subtitle such as: "Living up to your name (uphold expectations)" F*king hell!!
Moon is absolutely great, with two great lead actors. I rate ENA's dramas highly, their viewership doesn't seem to match, so maybe you have to pay extra to get ENA or something, no idea how subscription services are organised in SK.
Too bad this is on Amazon Prime which I don't subscribe to and hence won't be able to watch. Sigh.
Yeah, it happens. Amazon's recently done a deal (or bought) iQiyi, so some of iQiyi exclusives are coming through too (badly rendered, but it's Amazon). One that I watched recently that I'd missed was Lost, it was good.
But on your side you have self-justification... you can simply infer that it's not a title you would have been interested in. I do it all the time and, strangely, I hate every drama exclusive to Disney.
Why do you insist on writing comment after comment after comment after comment when you've ONLY WATCHED THE FIRST…
I hear you. I watched all of Doona, that was a mistake I'm not repeating just because I like the star. It's below my threshold. Let's see... the 'mad' lady got cured by receiving a piece of cake... it was the last straw and by that point my patience had worn very thin. It was obnoxious, no way I'm forcing myself through another series - I saw through it.
Edit: validation? No. Is that why you write comments? I'm compensating for the false positives from the Netflix cheerleaders. I believe they're lies, planted by fakes. Like companies that pay for 1000 positive reviews on Amazon for crappy products (almost everything on Amazon these days)... it works, I don't like it.
Another edit: I don't normally rate anything I drop after 1 episode, but seeing how this drama has an unrealistic 8.7 at the moment, I rated it 5. Mental patients are human beings too, yay! Spare me. The observations are elementary, the work of a kid.
No, I don't think so, but he knows the situation, who Kiho is, about his father and why it must be kept secret.…
Good point. Maybe he wrote it down. Even so, it might turn out in the modern world she forms a closer bond with BG even if he isn't Kiho - he could be Kiho though, as you say - it fits and makes sense, the way he was covering it up and knew everything... the only thing was that I don't think he would have treated MH as coldly as he did if he was KH. Don't you think?
I'm a fan of Sung Hoon and Jung Yoo-min was super impressive in Red Balloon... But this goes straight into bitchy family bullying from the start against a FL who refuses to stand up for herself. I don't have the stomach to wait for the revenge part. That was a painful 20 minutes. Well, 10 mins, I skipped a bit, it's padded with filler.
I'm sorry, but I'm curious about your comment...I dont know the actor, never seen him before this promo but what's…
Some might say so. He gets a lot of parts, to many it seems unusual that an okay actor gets so many ML roles. I think he suits 2ML personally, such roles are lighter on range. It's not for a want of trying, but when you can see how hard he's trying, it's not working. Like I said, I've nothing against him, I want to see the best actor for the role, so I speculate that he could be the son of a conglomerate or something that funds his dramas. Otherwise I'm really at a loss as to how and why.
She's a great actress. I love how she observes things to the smallest details, just fascinating. I'll happily watch anything she's in and always looking forward to her next work.
She looks the part, the perfect woman. Out of the league of most men... speaking of which, I don't dislike Song Kang... I just wonder why. And how... rich family? His agent made a bet with someone? When will they accept reality and give up? Nobody would mind if he was the 2nd ML.
ENA is releasing really good dramas for being a relative small network channel
Yes, it punches above its weight. It goes to show that if you love what you do and get the basics right, keep things honest, it makes the world of difference. Compare ENA to the budgets of Netflix originals and you see what I mean, the talent is there, it wants to create and make great work - all it needs is the right environment. ENA is proving it from one drama to the next. I especially like the good natured ones, like this.
This is great. I don't know what it is about ENA but I think overall they make my favourite dramas, really consistent, great characters and some snappy writing.
"Living up to your name (uphold expectations)"
F*king hell!!
(Please don't say "in his skin")
Oh never mind, I see it's a cameo.
