I agree with you. On another point. I felt a little disappointed that we might have to endure 40 episodes before that weasel intern-boss and the other boss's son get their comeuppance - its going to be hard work!!
Is everyone here international audience??? No wonder kdramas are not what they used to be. You guys totally missed…
The last one I watched was Iron Family, it was one of the best I've seen - I loved everyone in it from the start. This one, I like the actors but find all their characters lukewarm at best. I think most viewers have caught on to what's going on. As an expert on k-dramas, you'll know it's common to deliberately mislead the audience to a degree. And portray the ML as a self-sacrificing hero through loyalty to his friend?... he's not endearing himself to the viewers in any way. Even if he's being cruel to be kind, it's absurd. Regardless, anything could happen from here on, whatever any of us assume could be completely wrong.
It's warming up. It hasn't taken off like some others, but it's getting there. So why is Song-jae's mother secretly spying on Eun-ho...? Is she perhaps... related? Would that throw water on Song-jae's fire?
Did anybody else get Scooby Doo vibes? 4 teenagers and a small child in a van fighting villains? I enjoyed the…
Ah, Won Jin-ah. She's a dial tone, even in the action genre, she could have just bored the bad guys to death. That guy looked bored to be getting beaten up by her, he couldn't be bothered with it. I'm sure she's a lovely person, but no charisma.
the show was overall really interesting although I think it lost itself a little at the end. one thing about c-dramas…
He's got potential, he did all that was possible given a poorly constructed narrative, terrible script which, as you said, has no emotional bonds, random character consistency and weak cohesion from episode to episode. I wonder if it was written by AI actually. They seemed to infer that the villain was once a normal child that became a psychopath - some would say that's impossible. A bit like how they messed up Darth Vader's psychology in the 2nd Star Wars trilogy.
Dystopian splatter fest. Some of the action is ok. The plot is riddled with holes, even a viewer with the utmost ambition to suspend disbelief would be thwarted, it's devoid of common sense. Worst of all is the emotional disconnect - I felt nothing in my heart from start to finish. I assume it was written and/or directed by cluster B individuals, no irony, this is exactly the type of drivel they come up with, thinking it's ever so clever, in reality it's crass and predictable, without nuance, the opposite of clever, the opposite of artistic. I give 4 for the unfortunate actors and whoever did some of the choreography.
Like MMH, I'll wait for the Japanese remake... oh wait 🙄 Korea doing budget remakes of Japanese classics like this and Doctor X. Has the tide gone out on Hallyu? A bit like the Japanese remake of My Love From The Star I suppose - sigh.
Ok. Korean romanisation doesn't make sense to begin with, there are already 2 systems. Actors doing their own custom romanisations just makes things worse. I looked her up. Typically it would be romanised as Yoo-na or Yu-na. Just saying. Japanese romanji was ahead of its time, amazing. Trying to match English phonetics simply does not work.
I've been inactive for a year and the last time I saw you was 3 years ago but it's nice to see @atom951 still…
I'm flattered you remember me. I only come back to add a few titles to my list now and then, and not K anything... however, I came to this article wondering if this film was something like She Was Pretty or maybe Crush and Blush, and I found out that apparently, for some reason, someone feels the need to point out that frizzy hair is racist. Even in 2025. American Eagle ✌️👖
I find that when something comes out that triggers the virtue signallers, it's something good. Always ignore everything a virtue signaller says - they're not your friends.
The episodes are currently wrong for this. Episode 4 airs on Monday 2025-08-04 (Sunday night). There was no episode on 07-28 due to a sports contest being broadcast, afaik.
i like Kim Go Eun but she doesn't really shine in romance roles, and I know i might get flak for saying this,…
You should watch Yumi season 1, she and Ahn Bo-hyun were on fire, made it the success that it was. It depends on a lot of external factors if romance works or not, I reject answers that see age as the only thing. I can quite easily see why she chooses to pair with older co-stars, she's an artist, they'll be much easier to work with and cultivate rapport than, say, immature, insincere younger men like her co-star in Yumi-2 which was partly why it was a thorough disappointment. It can't be denied that she and Gong Yoo had fantastic rapport too - another annoyance of mine are the self-righteous virtue-signallers (i.e. narcissists) that disrespect the great Goblin, I see right through them.
I'll come out of K-retirement to watch these two together. Hang on.. only if it's on Netflix, Prime or Kocowa, I dumped all the others.
Even though KGE hasn't appeared since 2022 she also has Yumi3 on the table which may broadcast before Soul.
As for the title Soul... 🤮 I'm already bored of Soul and Seoul titles, how imaginative to come up with that? I'd accept Sole if it was on the topic of shoes or fish.
