Ah, it seems like the winners of the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards have left me with a few questions! Where's Kim…
Don't worry, QoT as a drama and Kim Ji-won's role in it didn't provide the type of scope that gets noticed by judges - even though she was excellent. The judges had probably already picked their favourite FLs by the time QoT was aired, so they'd just watch a few highlights and decide if they saw anything that would change their minds.
Honestly,i haven't watched My Dearest and won't because it got spoiled for me but everyone says it's amazing and…
He never just turns up and reads his lines. He's magnetic. Somehow he got cast in the typical rom-com Beautiful Gong Shim, where they needed an experienced actor to steady the ship with rookie Bang Minah... between the pair of them and an open minded director, they turned a run of the mill story into something quite extraordinary - one of the most charismatic and original male leads I've seen to date, totally unexpected - and such fun. It belatedly catapulted him into ML stardom.
Alas, this page doesn't display too well on my mobile phone 🤳 Looks like a lot of effort went into it though, so thanks to the writer, will look on the computer.
I love it. So many things going on. The showbiz mum is fascinating, I feel like I'm watching the story of Han…
To the first question... yes, it's their story. Maybe they'll get the wrong idea about each other and things will cool for a while though. We'll all probably get the wrong idea and shout at the TV! 🤬
2nd point, after watching this drama I sympathise a lot more with HSH than I used to. My bad.
seeing all the comments about dropping it, let's do a headcount, who is still here watching after ep14?
I love it. So many things going on. The showbiz mum is fascinating, I feel like I'm watching the story of Han So-hee and probably many others who've been there. Stop!! That was just a glib and foolish comment, please don't take it seriously HSH fans.
Yeah 🤔who do you think it is, I have no clue either, please spill your suspect 🙏
It might be his (real) mother's father-in-law... or maybe there's an older brother of Jin-taek who's out of the picture now, deceased, awol, whatever - could he have been the handsome boyfriend in the US?... I don't know why but all this talk about heirs to the business has made me think that Pil-seung could become an heir.
considering the age gaps and other couple's initial interactions, Mari and the 30 something guy might actually…
If we see her as a 12 year old, it makes the whole thing thought provoking. The parents setting her up with a sexual partner, is the age of consent a physical or mental state? At her age she'd get the tingles from watching boy bands and so on, but that's about it. It's another factor that makes this drama unique and fascinating.
how nice is the ml? i like goofy and himbo male leads so...
He's a lovely character, you'll like him. His acting is a little stiff to begin with, but the cast seems to have gelled now and they're all performing superbly and lifting each other.
He's obsessive, it's intense. I don't think he's a rapist, but who knows what he's capable of. Those scenes are really worth watching, the acting is amazing.
I saw some posts about Gong Jin-dan earlier... This weekend, the scenes between him and Do-ra and him and her mother were incredible. He's a really good actor, those were top notch performances from all three, they don't get a lot of time to prepare scenes in these frantic weekend dramas, but I felt like I was watching something very expensive, and very well prepared, super quality, I lost myself in those moments.
50 episodes of over an hour each, Im Soo Hyang, and an overbearing mother? I'm out.
You have to approach dramas like this in the same way as a jet-coaster ride. You prepare yourself for what's coming and enjoy going over the loops and descents at top speed, strap yourself in! 🎢
Btw, you'll be missing out on something, it starts tentatively, looks a bit cheap in places, but by 13/14 (this weekend) it's fully on its way. You could change your mind about Im Soo-hyang too, she's gone all-in, like her mum in this drama (sorry for the pun).
This drama is both fearless and fearsome, I haven't seen such a bold weekend drama. I think I know who Pil-seung's father is, assume I'm not the only one... if we're right, it's something to look forward to in a few months!
Looks like a lot of effort went into it though, so thanks to the writer, will look on the computer.
Don't let the rage-baiting get to you and enjoy the thrills 😉
