I only find the middle part a bit dragging with the fluff and comedy. They went a bit far with the fan service there.
But, it picks up again afterward, so I don't find it that problematic overall. If they can manage the remaining plots with only 5 episodes, that would be best. Gonna be tough though.

I won't comment on the romance part, because I loved both version.
But, I agree with some parts of the story could have been better. While I liked some of the changes to the characters, toned down political dynamic was not one of them. It was quite interesting to see multiple players at play.

It really depends on personal taste imo. I don't find Legend of Zang Hai that gripping for me, so took a break at around ep7-8. Meanwhile, I find myself tuning in for POB everyday.
My understanding is, addressing by name or nickname is a form of endearment which usually exists between the couple…
My guess for that would be how the women were raised back then. The rules, customs, etiquettes, and ideal behaviours expected of women. The higher a woman's standing in the social hierarchy, the more they are rule bound. So, they tend to be more reserved compared to man.
I have a doubt about the customs. Why do the husbands refer to their wives by both nicknames and titles, while…
My understanding is, addressing by name or nickname is a form of endearment which usually exists between the couple who has genuine affections.
Marriages back then were usually very political and most often than not, no love or affection involved, and mutual respect at best. Hence, the more formal form of addressing to each other. If it's the norm, I can imagine why it might be shocking if your spouse suddenly call you by your name.
(For modern day equivalent, like your significant other suddenly call you by your full name out of the blue. I know.. that is scary!)
Ep32, FL has very bad lines. She says " You are important as family are" but did not say " you are the most important…
That not who Xiao Qiao is. It was very clearly shown in Ep30 that she is not capable of being selfish and decisive like her cousin to throw everything away for a person's sake. Also, she has always considered herself as she belongs to both families. It was very apparent in one of her lines that said "I'm a member of Wei family, and also a Qiao woman at the same time". She never abandoned her natal family.
If she did so right after Ep30, she would be so out of character. And that would actually be called bad writing in regards to all these build ups and developments up until now.
Furthermore, in Xiao Qiao's life up until now, her family comes first. Even marrying Wei Shao was for her family's sake, which is literally jumping into a lion's den. Now, she fully considers Wei Shao the same. It would have been unimaginable a year ago when they just got married. They came a long way from there. And she can love both equally, there's nothing wrong with that.
The changes the drama made are pretty okay, and some are tasteful even. It's one of the better adaptations out there for sure. I like both the novel and drama.
Can anyone help explain what is actually happening in term of like the sudden attack? I mean shouldnβt they…
Normally, Langya army shouldn't arrive to those cities this fast, definitely not with this size of an army. It was only possible because they took advantage of the tunnel Bi Zhi dug upon Xiao Qiao's command.
And, Langya opend multiple battle fronts at once, both to the Wei state and Yanzhou. Yanzhou literally do not have any semblence of decent military force, so all those battle fronts fall upon Wei Shao's shoulder. That's why they were so desperate.
ManMan makes me question if I would have been a capable wife back in those times lol. I donβt think my brain…
Not sure I would make it to day 0, because with all those schemes flying around and if my mother turns out to be a potato, that really could be the case...
None of these deaths were in the novel. lol ππ
It's my most hated plot in the novel.

Since the political dynamic is totally different from the novel, it's a tough guess.

But hey, ain't complaining if Fei Fei got little brother or sister. We'll take it happily. hehe
I need her to grow up fast and make mischiefs like in the novel extra chapters!

Also, SZE cries so beautifully. My heart just melts.. ππ

I'm really afraid about it when the drama finally airs and they freaking tone down everything that makes the story epic. lol
I can live with the Prisoner of Beauty having less battle scenes, but definitely not for LoFG.
Manaman: "Even cousin protects Bi Zhi out of selfishness. I made his lordship fight for me. What am I doing?"
With SZE's excellent delivery, those dialogues broke me. πππ
