Those scenes of the Princess where she threw herself at Xia Jingshi, OMG!! I wanted to bury myself. That was never her character. They aimed too low with that insult, it was so humiliating.

And I'll admit that I like Xia Jingshi because he's such a complex character. He did a lot of horrible things - the death camps, the sacrifice of his own ppl, the citizens of the mountain pass, Fu Yixiao, etc. But even then, there is some dignity to his personality, all his evil actions are because of (Please read the book 🙏)

But this Xia Jingshi, I just want him to die a really fast and horrible death now. The writers assassinated his character even worse.
(Unless, it is revealed that all of this was a plan, fake stuff etc.)

And if they mess around with Feng Suige and Fu Yixiao, I'm calling for blood (boycott and criticism) Super pissed with the promos. 😡

I hope I'm wrong though and I have misunderstood everything 🤞

Now I wish tragedy comes to her sooner. The writers did her dirty. At least the princess from the novel had a better arc, she was still foolish but she redeemed herself in the end.

Oh why did the writers have to write such garbage about her and Xia Jingshi? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Couldn't they have made the viewers hate Princess Feng Xiyang and Xia Jingshi, with their dignity intact?

Unless someone's dreaming or pretending or something else.

Is it too early to call out 'character assassination?'

For people who have read the book, was it really necessary to do the above ☝️by the writers?

Idk, ya'll tell me if distorting the character arcs of a few characters is going to be beneficial for the story on the whole?🤷🏻‍♀️

Feng Suige and Fu Yixiao will still have to tackle the same obstacles, and their story arc doesn't change? They will of course be the benchmark for a few things (Spoilers) no matter how much you change the story.

So why destroy some of the important pinch points?

I would still take all the hurt and pain that the book offers instead of this mess they're trying to serve us in the upcoming episodes.

Oh God! This is horrible. I actually liked Xia Jingshi from the novel much more. If these rumours are true then the tragic fate of the Princess in the novel was much better. They stripped away the dignity of the characters. I hope these remain just rumours and never manifest 🤞🤞

Oh Wow! Did they really change the ending of the princess? 🤞🤞

I was so hurt by the ending. The book Xia Jingshi has a lot of baggage and he is a lot more gentle with the Princess but it is always out of duty.
In the end, he builds that structure for her, which means somewhere, in his heart, he acknowledged her too, but his heart is too damaged to recognise real affection.

Xia Jingshi turns into a tragic character. Even after all his faults, I can't hate him because his life becomes the 'punishment' for the crimes he committed.

She's practically a teenager in the book. Blame her teen phase .

Exactly and I have many more reasons but then I don't want to give out spoilers.

The princess is gullible and immature and so she will learn harsh lessons. I know about the 'death camp' angle and the sacrifice of the citizens. Very wrong and despicable. But there are hidden layers. I've read the book and it's pretty complex. Can't give out spoilers 😄
But I'm waiting for the character design this show has for Xia Jingshi and Feng Xiyang. That's why I'm waiting for the show to finish airing. And other reasons why I can't hate those is because of the book. It's pretty sad and tragic.

But I don't understand the hate/dislike for Xia Jingshi & Feng Xiyang. They are deeply flawed characters, yes, but that is the journey they're going through. It will take the story forward.

Xia Jingshi is very, very complex because that is how the life-long abuse has shaped him into.

Feng Xiyang was so sheltered and protected that she only saw the world through pink-tinted glasses (everything being righteousness and perfect)

Their relationship arc is, What happens when these two polar opposites are drawn together, by circumstances?

Today's episodes left me in pieces again! Ah Feng Suige! You have never had a single soul who cared about you truly, except Fu Yixiao 😭💘

Those two scenes where Fu Yixiao is bracing for the impact on Feng Suige after hearing her out

And the confrontation between Murong Yao and Feng Suige.

Devastatingly perfect!!! Can this show get any better 😍😍 I'm so spoiled now.

They gave every character a well-rounded arc. Secondary characters are not just for enhancing the Main Characters journeys 👏👏

He's going to use Princess Feng Xiyang to keep Feng Suige under control, maybe even try to get Fu Yixiao back to him.

I knew FSG & FYX will have to endure hell, but it's going to be even worse this time because now they're going to hurt for each other. The sister will also add to major pain for FSG if they take that aspect from the book. 🤫

I love Fu Yixiao. She's my champion. 😍😍 Damn! Haven't been so enraptured by a female character since a really long time.

She's intelligent, skilled, capable of great tolerance and also has very strong protective instincts. That speech she gave to the courtesan, it was incredible. Most people when they get hurt or betrayed in love, blame themselves or their fates. But it isn't the fault of the victim, it is always that toxic person at fault, who hurts you. Thanks Fu Yixiao 🤩👌

Damn! This man is pure husband material. That punch to the face of the Death Camp leader, it was delivered at such a perfectly timed moment. 😆 I'm in love with FSG's ruthlessness. I would've punched that leader a few more times.

And I've suddenly realised, I'm in love with all the main characters here. This show has officially made me a fanatic 😄😂

Yeah. That guy has a lot of potential. He plays difficult characters and delivers each time but I wish those characters to be well written. I don't mind if Chen He Yi portrays negative characters, but at give him fully-fleshed characters. He deserves it.

I wish Xia Jingshi is not typecast as a cardboard cutout villian. The more interesting the 'Antagonist' , the more agency the main characters will have. 🤞
