If you're looking for a pure romance series, this is definitely not it. This series explores pretty dark themes like war, death, betrayal, and sacrifice, and whilst doing that they throw in some love as well. The relationship between the main leads and the side couples are very well developed, even if they aren't necessarily the main focus of the plot

For me, the chemistry the had mainly came from how they always knew what each other was thinking, so even when ML comes up with crazy ass plans, FL knows even without him telling her. I thought the series ended a bit abruptly as I would've wanted to see some cute scenes with the main leads, but I guess the main point of the series is not just about the romance.

So just curious to any history people here, is this based on the Shanghai Massacre in 1926? And how much of it is true, and which party ended up winning?

It is not. I just might forget about this and miss it when it finishes airing (whenever that may be)

To anyone hesitating, it's definitely worth watching, especially if you love bromance cuz can't deny that I got interested about the relationship between WuXie and ZhangQiLing

Somehow my senses told me that Ultimate Note would be the only one I need to watch since it would be the best, I'm glad I was right!
Although can someone explain to me why WX and ZQL worries/cares about each other so much?
