The writer kept making "RULES" for Heaven (TM) that could not be broken, and then the writer kept breaking them, and they made no sense. I would have been happier with the show if the writer had changed the rules so that all the rules are kept. The inconsistencies were frustrating, I agree.
At the end we see Hae Suk saying that she would like to be an actress, and before that we saw the scene where…
When Hae Suk is saying she wants to be an actress, she lists off all the parts that she wants to play, and they're all the parts that Kim Hye Ja has really played.
Leaving my brain at the coat check, episode, 12: WTF part 4.
1. TWENTY THREE LIFETIMES TOGETHER, and HE DUMPS HER!!!!! HE DUMPS HER!
2. I'm done. That was a disappointing ending. I'm used to Korean shows have a year or two time skip at the end, but 80 years was a heck of a time skip to keep the lovers apart.
3. Even the dog's ending was disappointing. He didn't get his sausage, and he's (ahem) missing his sausage, if you know what I mean, princess.
4. What exactly is ML's job now? Killing people? (UPDATE: OK, he's erasing their memories of previous lives, because the writer BROKE their own rules, AGAIN. The writer had many characters repeat that "You'll forget all this when you reincarnate," but ML's job is now to go around and erase people's memories. He erases a little girl's past memories, but the writer lets author guy write books about his past lives before ML gets around to erasing his memories. And how was author guy reincarnated? He should have been in Hell (TM) all along. What's the point of ML telling author guy he's going to Hell (TM) when author guy should have already been in Hell (TM) from his previous life?)
5. HE DUMPED HER!!!! GRRRRRRR. He has a chance to make it right this time. What if FL wants to live with ML after her new death but her latest husband wants to live with her when he dies?
6. Having FL describe all the parts she's played as if they're the parts Hae Suk wants to play was even more meta than the Pastor saying, "What kind of twisted drama is this?"
7. The writer forgot about the FL's inner monologue button about halfway through the show. And the writer forgot that Som-i always saw storm clouds in Heaven (TM).
Leaving my brain at the coat check, episode 11: WTF part 3.
1. What . . . What kind of twisted drama is this?
2. There's no way Hae Suk would wear that ugly ass tutu dress. I call shenanigans.
3. Hats off to everyone who thought Som-i was Hae Suk, but it doesn't make any sense given the rules of Heaven (TM).
4. How did they all get in the mirror? THAT made no sense.
5. Poor Doggies. I loved them sniffing out animal abusers on the train and then biting them before pushing them off to Hell (TM).
6. Young Hae Suk and older Hae Suk don't really seam like the same person.
7. I never thought Nak Jun ever cheated on Hae Suk, so it does seem right that Som-i and Hae Suk were the same person. But why didn't Hae Suk recognize herself? She had the same face. Or did that ugly ass tutu dress blind her?
8. I guess Nak Jun recognized Hae Suk on the train. But why was she going to Hell (TM)? The writer never explained that.
9. At least the Pastor got a good send off.
10. What . . . What kind of twisted drama is this? That line gave me such a spit take that I just have to repeat it.
11. At least Sonya reappeared.
12. Som-i being Hae Suk explains why she was good with the umbrella. But the writer forgot that Som-i always saw storm clouds. Then again, it was raining for the first time in Heaven (TM) when the Pastor walked Hae Suk home.
13: And why was Shark guy wearing the same obnoxious Hawaiian shirt in 2025 and the 1960s?
Aw was excited for a new ep today. But I guess I have to wait another week 🥲
20 minutes a week seems too short! And then I remembered that that's how we USED to watch TV before streaming was invented. A "half hour" show had 10 minutes of commercials, so the show was only 20 minutes long, and only on once a week. Sigh.
1. We all knew Mia was going walk in on the two boys in bed and freak out.
2. I really liked Mia's Mom calling her out on all her entitled bullshit.
3. I liked the scene where Mia thought the boys were both into her, and her surprise that they were into each other. I kept calling the pottery bear "Paddington."
4. I like that they all decided to give the 3-some a go. But I don't understand why they needed to go to a love motel when they're already living together. I guess so they can get a bigger bed, a kinky atmosphere, and not have to wash the sheets after?
5. The co-irker who claimed to be ace hooking up with some guy she never wants to see again at the love motel, and then going full super hero on Shinpei.
