Looking at the current situation with CVB, although the data can’t be falsified and is the most authoritative, I’m skeptical that capital will cast on pure data results. I think everything still depends on hype and marketing. CVB tends to get stepped on or ignored when the leading stars are not famous enough but when traffic actors get high CVB scores, the rhetoric changes and CVB is hailed and paraded. CVB also depends on the station. The higher ratings tend to come from CCTV-1 followed by CCTV-8 with satellite stations having much lower ratings.

The lack of movement might be the director’s style or a requirement for the special effects. There’s pyrotechnics in a few scenes and wirework. I wouldn’t agree about the faces and stiff expressions for the cast though. Most were okay when they needed to be more animated.
LianMo’s chemistry was top tier. They also released modern short videos that were amazing in terms of chemistry.

I’m hoping it gets approved before leaks and more promotions start to come out.

🤝. I’ve never understood any comments saying the production is poor either. It’s actually quite careful considering the budget for this show. There’s a few bugs like the transitions but otherwise it’s solid. No one’s clothing or makeup look cheap nor does the scenery look garish or fake. Everyone is well lit, the voices fit, etc. When I first watched it, it had movie like quality to me. Maybe it’s being mixed up with it being an older drama so it doesn’t look as “crisp” as newer dramas.

Thank you for saying Xiao Feng is a complex role😭 So many people write off her character as simple but both leads are juggling their identities vs their desires and they both undergo a complete transformation as a result of the ruthlessness of the court.

I hope it treats her right. She’s obviously very dedicated and sincere. It would be a shame if the production was short-sighted and betrayed that. No weapons forged against Xiao Ran ever seem to prosper.

She’s probably going to bring a lot of newcomers but I don’t think that’s a bad thing if it allows her access to better resources.
