I hope she doesn't join for now. She has much more freedom in her current position. Also I think it will take…
Yeah, her freedom is why I like this show so much. I’d hate to see it go. Apparently in the full version of this drama they have a more transitioned and nuanced process of her coming to like him.
So far this is fun to watch. I'm surprised there are so few viewers. Then again not everyone is in to fantasy.…
It wasn’t really advertised beforehand for a lot various reasons and then it stopped airing due to the mourning period last week. It seems to be picking up steam though.
The bickering is keeping this show alive. Yezi’s pout you could see from a long shot has me excited for tomorrow’s…
I wouldn’t say it’s a waste for the 2 leads. The 2 leads have the most screen time and the most complete storyline but a lot people don’t care for them. It’s one of the chief complaints being made about the show after the cuts on both Weibo and here. I personally skip their scenes too lol.
I wonder if Yezi will join the harem? I can see why Yu Xiuming was against Minister Fan’s suggestion. I think traditionally members of the harem weren’t allowed to be involved in politics and if she joined, her astrology career would be over.
Despite the terrible editing, I am still watching without skipping so much. And the comedic scenes esp the bickering…
The bickering is keeping this show alive. Yezi’s pout you could see from a long shot has me excited for tomorrow’s episode. Tbh, I don’t even think it’s censorship anymore. It feels like the editor just got tired and let every shot go.
There's a bts of yezi, arui and wuyou when he was playing the harp like thing and they were joking about how yiwuyou…
Yeah I think a pure revenge plot at this point wouldn’t work which is why I’m interested in the ending. I don’t think it will follow the book. I feel like we’ll get some angst but ultimately she’ll stay with Emperor Ming and cut ties with Yi Wuyou.
Finally saw one of the sweet scenes promised in the trailer and it didn’t disappoint😭😭😭. They cut everything else to pieces in the last two episodes (17&18) but thank goodness they didn’t cut the medicine scene.
Seeing sis getting kicked around by General Cai was just pitiful. But seriously when is sis gonna unlock the seal…
I thought she broke the seal already. I can see why she got beat up tho. I remember Yu Xiuming saying at the start that she doesn’t know any martial arts.

From the tidbits, it seems like she struggled more in coming to like him. There was a revenge line that was completely cut from the drama. I think in its original form, it definitively would have been more of a toss up because you would have had more Ye Rui time plus watched Yezi struggle to come to terms with her feelings for Yu Xiuming. I think the test point will be learning of A’Rui’s death. I think even if Yu Xiuming didn’t cause A’Rui’s death directly, him showing up and refusing Yezi’s offer were catalysts to the events that led to her death so in grief, Yezi will probably blame him. It seems so from trailers. What I’m really intrigued by is if he is directly responsible for A’Rui’s death in the second timeline, how will Yezi stay in love with him like she looks like from the trailer?
I am about to fight up with the Youku editors and everyone who works there
I went to complain to Youku. I tried to stay tolerant in the beginning but I can’t stand it anymore. 😂 Like okay censorship cut it up but it’s not like they had to make it worse with more cuts. Or suffocate us with the second pairing of mr and mrs “blah blah blah no one cares” . The least they could have done is smooth the cuts out with decent editing but no. They’re really out here delivering the drama equivalent of a toddler giving themself a haircut.
I really don’t understand his cuts. Like did Yi Wuyou do to end up a cameo when he is 2nd male lead? Someone…
Looking at the trailers of the next few episodes, it seems the cuts were so he didn’t appear as a grey villain. Supposedly they’re not encouraged any more.
The stills of PXR in armour look amazing!!! Cant understand why her fans are complaining about a lack of pretty dress stills when they can have a bad*as on the battlefield. 😂 This is like all my dreams come true. 😩 Can’t wait to watch tonight’s episode!
Did they cut another Yi wuyou scene? There's a BTS of that scene with the doll she made and ZZT was there with…

Thank you for writing this. I've been quite annoyed with all the incessant rants on this show on various platforms.…
The hate is really annoying. It’s honestly mostly down to a close minded view of who can act in certain dramas, targeted (hate/bloodsucking) marketing early on, and blatant ageism. This show has given us such a good main couple. One that can be a hard sell but through acting, decent direction, and an okay script has navigated itself into something delicate, entertaining, and relatively healthy for the trope. I believe it when the creators say the script took years to develop just in watching the leads alone. Yebei is hit or miss but the main Tianqi cast are all doing the best within the role of their characters and they really do stand out. Cheng Wu is loyal to the point of stupidity 😂. Minister Jie was a convincing duality of kind to Yezi yet scheming against Emperor Ming. Fan Ruhui is a lively typical villain playing evil and slapstick never goes over the line that makes it awkward. Even Tianfei is a surprise. She looks cold but so far has had nothing but a gentle heart when it comes to Emperor Ming. The plot is the way it is mostly due to the cuts and poor edits but the characters are really shining through just like title. And that’s mostly due to acting. FSF is killing it. The director is right in that no one else could play Yu Xiuming because I can’t think of an actor in his cohort willing to do this that can deliver that combination of the divine presence of the emperor, the guiding guardian, and man focused on a career but falling in love with a much younger women who he is tutoring to survive a life in power. He’s ruthless but he’s also flesh and blood. He can destroy countries to unite the world but he can’t bear to lose his temper at the woman he loves. And, Yezi. They’ve cut her character to shreds so she appears as some innocent white rabbit when she was supposed be a bit more ruthless and out for revenge. They cut the whole backstory meant to make you understand her and yet PXR can still deliver a performance against FSF that has satisfied viewers and especially his fans. I can still see a proud girl who grew up without love in Yebei and at the first opportunity, made something of herself. And this may start a fight but to me she really is the only actress in her cohort who does TV that can play Bai Lu. Many of them are no longer believable playing cutesy and few of them are able to make the clear transition of growth in a character like PXR can. She might need to work more on bigger body movements rather than relying so much on eyes skills and micro movements but she gives a satisfactory performance in my opinion. Someone had the heart to say this show is patriarchal and maybe it is but we’re 16/17 episodes in and the key identity of Yezi is that she is a top and talented official. Emperor Ming may toy with her but she definitely has her own thing going and it is a far more interesting dynamic than a show where the heroine’s key storyline is to be a wife and mother. People always complain about how costume Cdrama are mostly cutesy FL who need saving all the time and yet they’re ready to trash the one who basically builds her own career through self determination because they feel her romantic is not handsome enough. Sorry for the long rant. It’s just ridiculous to me to throw the whole show away for a 3 minute scene with a wolf and a rough start especially when Cdramas are notorious for having very weak starts. I won’t name dramas but I often have to give a show 10 episodes before I give up and this show starts to right itself by the 4th episode. That reviewer has a very narrow set of skills and really can’t see the larger picture of why stories with imperfections may work. They also only watch the first few episodes so they rarely have a holistic view. This key to this story is the characters and the emotional line between the leads. I hope in the future as Cdramas become more popular that there will be better and more talented reviewers because there are a lot of great stories out there and they shouldn’t be gatekept by the voice of one.

That alone will make me give the whole series a 10.

Truly we want them to be Bai Lu but they keep giving us Zhu Ying!
