wow, thank you for this history recap!! I watched 3 eps (unname illegal sources) and reallyyyy love this drama. I haven't watched all of Li Xian's dramas but he has impressed me here!! And Wei Daxun, I almost couldn't recognize him! Love the storytelling too, this is how a slice-of-life period drama should look like-- down-to-earth, straightforward storytelling and actors look like they have little or no make-up ❤️ why, why do they have to re-edit 🥺

Hang on!! You guys do realize when they are shooting the drama, the music and songs are not decided yet. Music are added in the editing room. Whether actor knows how to play the pipa or not, is irrelevant.... Or they might know which music they will be using but when shooting, they have no ideal how the music would start. Don't think they play the actual music on set.

Actually his character is hinted there's something wrong with him all along. Remember Pan Er saved him from suicide, and there's the stuffs that he said about Gao Hui.... we do not know if Gao Hui's nanny might have done those deeds in her name or OYX lied? He is a man prone to extremities.
