I happened upon a video of Chen Zheyuan losing his wig when buckets of water were thrown at him on a variety show. He admits to wearing them when his hair was cut short for a drama.
I decided to google "Chinese actors who wear wigs offscreen." And guess what lie their AI came up with?

It's my 7th or 8th time watching this drama and it never gets old .. this is my fav Xu kai drama.
I sometimes/often find myself watching some random drama and think, I'd rather rewatch Moonlit Reunion.
Admittedly, I will FF past some scenes (I've seen enough of rat demon and the overuse of Mei Si and Book Boy), but I keep coming back for Mei Zhuyu and Wu Zhen. β€οΈ
I especially love each time Mei Zhuyu bests Book Boy, showing us just how truly powerful MZ is.

The ML protected "him" from day one, pretending the female underwear was his, protecting (by then) her in the shower, causing a disturbance in the health checkup line, etc.).
He was a relentless tease, but he was protective, even when he thought his roommate was a guy.
The 2ML had an image to maintain. He wouldn't have done any of these things.
The ML had an amazing character arc, probably the most extensive one in the series, from debauched playboy to exceptional soldier, friend, and significant other.
