Did any of the secondary characters in PoJ have as much screentime as the male lead?

You seem confused as to why XK's fans have a problem with MR. It's not lead vs. lead but lead vs. multiple "secondary" leads. Those who could visit the mortal and demon worlds won the screentime game. I'm talking especially about Book Boy and Mei Si, who was everywhere: with Mei Zhuyu, Wu Zhen, Snake Lord, Blake Snake.

We learned as much information about Black Snake's backstory as we did the ML's, and even more so about White Snake.

The balance was off, waaaaayyyyyyyu off.

The Plus-size version of episode 3-1 (or 5) is Xu Kai-centric. A must watch!

Isn't the source material a buddy drama, like Blood of Youth? There would have to be major rewrites to accommodate an FL.

Personally, I'd like to see Xu Kai step out of the costume lane he's in (Moonlit Reunion, Spring of the Blade, Strange Tales of Tiandu) to work on something that challenges him.

And at this point in Yang Zi's career, I don't know that this is the direction she would take.

In his earlier seasons, when Xu Kai would occasionally read out some text, I believe it was Mr He who would join in and read louder, causing Xu Kai to stop. Did he think XK was reading too slowly? Did he have a problem with his pronunciation? Whatever it was, it bothered me to no end.

On episode 21 and the trope I hate the most, misunderstandings (both accidental and intentional), keep piling up. It's too much for me. I've got to let this drama go.

How could Mei Zhuyu have mortal relatives on his father's side?

I don't think the writers spent much time on our Zhuyu's backstory.

A question for those who have watched the entire drama:

I think Xu Kai might be sending a message to Yu Zheng at this moment.

Once Xu Kai was spotted, the official tourism bureau immediately capitalizing on his appearance, essentially announcing, “Xu Kai has come to Quanzhou Ancient City Coffee Art Week!” and describing themselves as having “caught a wild soso."

I love how even non-Alasos call him SoSo.😊

And he survived that warning like a champion.

Pay for a month of Disney+. It's worth it.

At least there's no news of him re-signing. That, and the fact that no new project has been announced.

I like that he's keeping himself so visible right now. Less Is More (again), variety shows, magazines, a soon-to-be-released drama (🤞).
