It would help if those who enjoyed the drama and/or Xu Kai's performance would take the time to rate it.

Xu Kai has been keeping his schedule to himself so I wouldn't make that assumption.

I would hope Xu Kai isn't waiting until the contract is over before seeking a better situation.

Those in the business know what Yu Zheng is like and the games he likes to play. With Eight Hundred on his resume, more doors should be open for kaiKai.🤞

You seem to be very concerned with the drama's low rating, which is interesting because your rating isn't drastically different.

Plus, we have no idea what contract negotiations (or decisions) might have on his work schedule.

Do the dropped scores figure into the overall rating? I noticed that score is 2.12 for Eight Hundred. Even the low-rated Rebirth (6.0) has a dropped score around 4, which seems typical.

Is that where the black marketers and haters dwell?

I think she was trained by Book Boy. How the Demon Underground found her, I have no idea.

It's possible Mei Zhuyu's dad shielded his son somehow so any powers were suppressed.

When Wu Zhen told the other demons she was getting married, one of demons mentioned that no other demon/Cat Lord had ever married a mortal. That made me wonder if Mei Zhuyu was actuaIly a full demon. I don't think he was. It's a mistake in writing. Why else would his father live in the mortal world if it weren't for his mortal wife?

THIS is why we need a second series. OR they should have answered these questions instead of farting around with Mei Si or Book Boy. Or that scent battle that went on forever.

Wu Zhen had to be trained to become cat lord. Mei Zhuyu started his Taoist training at a very young age which might have suppressed his half-demon side.

This is my theory, not canon.🙂

He always looks beautiful. It's not my call to say how how he should look. It's just refreshing to see his more natural look, something many actors wouldn't dare to do.

I heard that since Xu Kai is so fair, they really had to work at getting him as dark as he ended up.

I'm sure whatever they did wasn't great for his skin, but neither is the heavy costume drama stuff.

I loved Mei Zhuyu. You could see his actual skin sometimes. And he was still so handsome.

I wish they'd let Xu Kai get away from the porcelain-doll look, which could be seen in some Eight Hundred interviews.

The tanning is makeup.

Supposedly you can't cultivate demon powers and taoist powers so Zhuyu had taoist powers. But, I think the reason he was such an outstanding and talented monk was due to his unknown/untapped demon powers.

He was healed by the zhuyu demon plant so he might now be a full demon.

And mom was a doctor, a job requiring as much dedication as being a police officer, so I wonder if others helped raise him, perhaps his grandparents.

I definitely wasn't including Xu Kai here. I don't think he plays these games.
