2025Promise You a Joy and Sorrow (许你一场悲欢)ML: Ma Xiaoyu FL: Guo Yuxinhttps://youtu.be/ZbUddhCEqH4https://dramafren.net/watch/a-vow-of-joy-and-sorrow-full/2024His…
Thank you for the links. I couldn't find two of these! 💙
Thank you. Oh I think I remember ML's dark green suit now that you have mentioned it. I might watch it again to…
For sure! The ML's assistant is so great! And now that you mention it, I haven't noticed much mahjong in vertical dramas either. Actually, the last time I even saw it played was when I rewatched the movie, "Crazy, Rich Asians" on Netflix (which has that phenomenol mahjong scene near the end. Michelle Yeoh is awesome).
This is a wonderful review. The way you described all the aesthetics is perfect. I just loved the whole vibe, too. The colors and outfits really stood out. I usually only like black or dark gray suits, but I loved the ML's dark green velvety suit. I just really wanted to pet it. Haha. My favorite FL outfit was the red/white polkadot blouse with red pencil skirt, but honestly all her outfits were rockin'.
Ahh yes... when ML bonded with his mom-in-law, it was so so sweet... that was also one of my favorite aspects as well. I love that he asked her about her daughter's interests and got her that doll.
It was a pleasure reading your review. You've noted the different eras and colour palette for FL's outfits. Yes…
I'm glad you liked reading it! Cheng Cheng is for sure my favorite mob boss, so far. I just REALLY love that he wasn't rough with the FL but he was still super brave and harsh with all the bad guys 😍. Even though I love Ma Xiaoyu in general, I hate it when he's violent with the FL, so he was definitely my LEAST favorite mob boss. 💔.
The mention of Weibo was interesting. It makes me wonder if it is an accident in the script... like maybe the writers / director forgot Weibo didn't exist yet. 😶. One time I saw the set-crew had forgotten a Starbucks paper coffee cup in the peripheral background of an historical setting. 😄
I saw that you left a review also, so I'm going to read it now!
A good, thorough review. I'm responding here instead of the private chat so it stays with the drama. 😁. Thank you for recommending it. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
This is the first drama where I experienced angst in the opposite direction, so the payoff was much better. Everything was going so great between the leads, that I was scared it would be ruined at any moment. Everytime I thought their happy life was about to be crushed by some greentea sabotager, I was pleasantly surprised that they always quickly found love and trust. They were strong and gracious to each other and weren't overreactive. Leads that trust, are one of my favorite types of dramas. 💗
Sorry for responding so late, missgap! I looked at the timestamps you added (thanks for doing that)... That actor wears similar glasses, but he is NOT Ma Xiaoyu. :)
Ma Xiaoyu and Zuo Yi acted well. However, this tiny 46.5 minute Proya promotional drama is a mediocre production with a deflating storyline. (The ad part is cringey 😬👀.)
Anyone know which app its on like dramabox or Kalos TV or any other app?
I have been searching everywhere (and will keep at it periodically), but as of NOW, the only place I can find this drama is on the Chinese version of the Tencent Video app (see above). It is NOT available on my English version Tencent Video app. Unfortunately, even the raw Chinese one above won't play outside of China / or authorized regions without a VPN. We're all temporarily out of luck for now. 😢💔.
"Young Liu Yuexi had a high fever. On the way to the hospital, her mother Zhang Lan found her father Liu Yingpei, who had cheated on her with his mistress. The father who favored boys over girls, together with his mistress, drove her mother crazy. Fortunately, she was rescued by her adoptive father. Now Liu Yuexi is back and plans to take back everything that belongs to her mother. Unexpectedly, she accidentally got involved with Li Chenyuan, the president of Li Corporation, who turned out to be her fiancé. Facing such a domineering man, she loved and hated him."

So... remember when I said ALL the dramas I tried to watch on YOUKU had English subtitles? ...Well, I digress. Lol. I'm only HALF right. I tried to watch THIS drama on my YOUKU app by tapping the above YOUKU link and it gave me the 100% raw original version (great quality though). I realized that if the YOUKU logo is blue & orange, that its set up for English speakers and so all the dramas have already been translated with great English subtitles. But... if I tap on the YOUKU logo that is blue & pink (like above), it still opens as if its my app, but everything is in Chinese ONLY.
