Agreed, plot is such a mess. This drama wouldn't get all the hype if it wasn't for the cast.
Something I haven't seen addressed, she comes right out and says "I'm marrying for status" and then says "And we'll divorce in 3 years"---WHAT? Isn't the point of royalty to NOT get divorced? To supposedly be a role model for the citizens? They're so worried about status in this drama and then it's OK to have a loveless marriage right from the start (bad enough but frequently in Kdramaland) and then before they even marry talk about the inevitable divorce? lol...and he supposedly is so in love w a shallow woman like this? It's a total turn off for me, this kind of thinking. Not to mention the bad acting (what's w IU rolling her eyes so often, the character's personality is all over the place), and ML looking bored.
Since they were in the academy he liked her fierceness. How she is bold and unafraid to speak the truth and she…
She clearly says she wants status but I honestly couldn’t figure out why he was willing to marry her. Especially when she also clearly says right away “and then we can get divorced!” Like royalty isn’t supposed to be providing good role models
I’m watching this bc there’s literally nothing else good on (I’m waiting for Royal Nemesis this weekend) I’m really surprised how pedestrian the writing is, esp considering the star power. Let alone no chemistry and weird acting by IU. ML is just pretty much phlegmatic the whole time. Whenever I see a drama and think “I could have written this,” it’s NOT a good sign. With an 8.5 rating I thought was going to be good.
Its a question of different values. Your point of view is of somebody of the present, that doesn't reflect the…
Charles walked her down the aisle but was her own refusal to integrate and accept the royal protocol as well as her own nasty behavior that sunk their boat.
Great first episode! I’m a little tired of 6-10 episode dramas where everything happens super quick and the…
Yes I’m so tired of shy retiring subservient FLs, this one can hold her own. And the ML won’t let himself be trampled on either which is also refreshing
Jang Seung Jo gets finer with age I love his eye wrinkles and that he hasn't touched them or removed them :)
Funny, I noticed that too and loved the wrinkles and then I thought, hope he doesn’t freak out seeing it. We’re so brainwashed (thx medical profession) about wrinkles, it’s v annoying. I actually found his face v reassuring.
