My impression is that the sex appeared less intimate than the hand holding because it could be hidden. Nobody but them knew what they were doing. Hand holding, OTOH, is a PDA, with huge social consequences - basically an announcement of a relationship. These two people appear to be almost pathologically secretive, so casual sex behind closed doors would likely have felt less threatening to them.
I wouldn't take their actions as typical of the society, though ...

Am I misreading the plot summary above? it says the second bride is supposed to marry a bandit. I actually prefer the general, as to me it makes more sense ....
And I've been fortunate to see the 2001 version which, as you mention, is available on YT. Excellent show.!

I've seen and thoroughly enjoyed the original; some kind soul has Eng subbed it on Youtube, in case anyone else wants to see it.
But my comment was that the remake that we're waiting on was filmed before The Starry Love, which has already aired in its entirety. Basically I would love to know what the holdup is, since I can't watch the actual drama ... lol ...

I suspect there's some behind the scenes maneuvering going on. This was actually supposed to come out last year sometime, so I doubt its delay has much to do with Starry Love.

I mean WCRG was filmed before Starry Love. It's the original. Not sure what the hold up has been about airing it, though ... it was supposed to air last year.

You shouldn't spoiler your question, though ... only the people who answer need to spoiler their posts, because otherwise they will give details of the plot that others haven't had a chance to watch yet.

Some of the wuxia I've seen recently has been neither plain or boring, but yymv ... lol ... This is definitely a strong opening for a xianxia, though, and I'm looking forward to a very enjoyable show.

Flashback

This drama was practically made for him. I think you will be impressed. And I have found Bai Lu to be a performance enhancer for the MLs she's worked with. So aside from her own very solid performance, I think you can expect very good things from LYX as well.
