Xiao Changfeng is NOT the 12th prince. He is Prince Xun, a relative to the royal family.

He plays as Xiao Changqing, the 5th prince. He married a noble lady, Gu Qingzhi, who committed suicide after her family was executed. He deeply loves her, but it was one sided.

He was the emperor's fav son who was trained to be the next emperor. When he fell for Gu Qingzhi, he begged the emperor to bestow a marriage. In return, he became the emperor's sword, doing dirty jobs for him, including supervising the execution 😭

After his wife died, he remains in mourning period and lives in seclusion, refuses to return to the court. He deeply hates the emperor and plans to get revenge. Xiao Changqing only loves his deceased wife and his little brother, Xiao Changying (9th prince). He returns to the court after finding out "someone" is targeting the emperor.

He is extremely smart, as smart as our couple. Xiao Huayong often threatens him to do dirty jobs, while Shen Xihe prefers to ally with him. Xiao Changqing doesn't mind, bcos their target is the same: the emperor dies. He often does things that actually helps the couple.

He doesn't remarry.

We still have the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th and 8th princes. However between all the princes in the novel, the 3rd and 6th can be eliminated as their roles aren't as important 🤔 but there are about 6 male actors on the list (excluding 3 for fix characters), so I'm not sure...

The novel is set during Tang dynasty, but why Meng Ziyi's style looks like from earlier dynasty? As in around year 200-600? 🤔

Now, there are 2 other girls in the novel: Shen Yingruo and Xue Jinqiao. Between Kong Xueer and Zhou Jingbo, I want Xueer as A'Ruo though, but Zhou Jingbo has the innocence of A'Ruo 🤔

WHAT A CAST!!! The novel has a huge list of characters, so I did expect a long list, but seeing those names made me WOW!

I rewatched it last month, this time with my mom. Then I realized I hate this drama more than I hate JoF. At least in JoF there are only 3 and half villains, but in PA, more than half characters are villains 😑 evil after evil appeared one after another. It was another level of exhaustion. Even my mom kept getting angry and tired 😅

Also, since I have watched Legend of Shen Li, then rewatched PA, I felt like their characters are exactly the same. As if Shen Li and Xing Zhi died and reincarnated as Chu Qiao and Yue. Or perhaps Chu Qiao and Yue are actually their kids 🤔

Tbh I really wanted to chop Yue down most of the time, esp when he calmly said "I gave you a hint" to Yan Xun when his family was in jeopardy. Seriously? A hint? Isn't he your friend or just a passerby? Also, being a stone type of tsundere, he was more annoying than the usual tsundere. At least usual tsundere are vocal and grumpy that we can argue all day. You can't have argument with Yue bcos he doesn't speak.

I like this spin off. It is like a travelog with old and new friends. However the staff seemed like they didn't know what to do and forced them to form a love line. It was good just as travelog though.

I missed s1 cast so much and I also love Dahye and Dongjin.

This is a good drama, recommended, of course. I just dislike it and won't rewatch it.

Finally finished watching this. Personally, I dislike s2. It was boring for me. Although both seasons have a LOT of talking, when watching s1, I couldn't help but being curious and watched next episode. For s2, I had to skip a few eps and even jumped to watch the last ep, then went back to where I was.

In s1, it took me 5 eps and I already had a long list of fav characters. But for s2, until the last eps, there is not one character that I like 😱 I couldn't connect with any of them. Perhaps only the first emperor. I do love the deep brotherhood between Pingzhang and Pingjing. But for others, i.e the subordinates have no personality, felt no different with the sword hanging on their waist. Unlike Fei Liu, Li Gang, Zhen Ping, Wei Zheng, even Xia Chun and Xia Qiu have real personalities.

What I hate the most: the good side is ALWAYS 1-2 steps behind 🤦‍♀️ they are so dumb, clueless and powerless, that it made the villains gained the upper hand and controlled everything. There is no situation where the good ones actually won and made the villains suffered a total defeat. Also, the empress and her Xun family is full of idiots on different levels. The empress is shortsighted and only cares about her own interests, the PM is an ungrateful and a jealous person, Anru is the most idiot and useless, while Feizhan is slow.

Sometimes I even wondered if Mei Changsu reincarnated as Puyang 😅

I also didn't care about the romance between Pingjing and Lin Xi that I ended up skipping all their scenes.

For me, the story finally picked up from ep 35. Man... took a LONG time! Ep 27 and 37 are the saddest episodes. It took 46 eps to get they realized they have been miscalculated everything 😒

Lin Ziye is rumored to act in this drama. Among all characters from the novel, the only kid is the 12th prince, Xiao Changgeng 🤔

Tbh I hate how her makeup stylist do her makeup. She looks pretty with normal makeup, yet they often give her fairy makeup with all the aegyossal line and glitter. In result, she looks different in every pictures.

Oh Luo Yutian as the FL!?!?!? Yes! I support! 🤗

Can someone submit a new profile pic for her? I tried to do it few times with different pictures yet they all got rejected in the name of "the current one is better". For God's sake that pic is like 5+ years ago! 🤦‍♀️

Tbh I highly recommend you to read the novel instead bcos the story is very different from the drama and the novel is sooooo good! The ending is also very different! 😆

Well he wasn't alone when he died. All of his followers were with him. What I dislike:
1. Sudden war plot.
2. Both of his most beloved, Jingyan and Nihuang weren't there.
3. What about the others? Oh watch s2 of course. Lol

Like I said, I wanted a peaceful death for him. Bcos he has fulfilled all his missions and reunited with his loved ones.

They will start filming on April 7. I feel bad for He Yu bcos he has no time to rest before the filming. He goes straight to Hengdian after Speed and Love ends. Meanwhile Meng Ziyi has 1 and half month of rest after she filmed San Xian Mi Hui, although she had a packed schedule on March. I hope they all stay healthy.

It's been months since it ended, yet the drama and the whole crew are still being appreciated 😭❤

Indeed it makes no sense at all when suddenly the story changed on the last eps. That plot was so unnecessary. We all expected he would leave after Jingyan ascended and the Chiyan case is settled. It would be a bittersweet and peaceful ending. I couldn't even cry watching the ending 🙄 only dumbfounded.

Perhaps the writer was preparing for a sequel, so to know what happened to the others, we must watch s2.
