I love all the ost for this drama, I have them on my playlist. My most fave is probably 双生鸟 (Twin Birds) by Ray A'lei. When this song plays during that scene, you know which one, it hit so deep 😭

Tbh this drama is okay, but there are too many loopholes and absurdities. As the villain, Na Zhan doesn't seem evil until the very last few eps, but it is still doesn't live up his reputation. As if the writer tried to create a sexy emperor who is calm, composed and understanding instead of a corrupt and cold blooded villain. He keeps forgiving his useless subordinate. If he is really cruel, why he didn't chop his man?

Qingyun. Why is he everywhere? He easily strolls into Beishuang's chamber as if it's his own room. Could it be her palace has no guards? Only her and her 2 servants? Also, his backstory isn't solid enough. He is emotionally balanced character, but his story is unconvincing.

From 5 characters, I don't understand Ge Xinwei the most. She and Beishuang switched identities. Yet she doesn't care about her tribe at all. Xinwei gave all her responsibilities to Beishuang. All she thinks and cares about is Ruo Wen. She keeps following him like a shadow. Girl, come on! Why should Beishuang carrying all this burdens by herself? I even wonder which tribe did Beishuang come from 🙄 Her character isn't cute and likeable at all.

On the other hand, Ruo Wen is actually the most pitiful of them all. Life is so unfair to him and he didn't get the justice he deserved 😭 I wanted to see how he rules a city. Btw I didn't expect him to be a tsundere 😅 Typical tsundere, he keeps saying things he doesn't mean. He truly cares for Xinwei, but keeps denying his feelings.

I have a lot of trainees that I like. Since I love Changsub, I'm leaning to Groove. My personal picks for team Groove: Park Han, Kyungho, Goo Hanseo, Kim Juhyung, Bae Jaeho, Kenta, Kwon Heejun. If only they can perform in this lineup, I would be happy.

My other favorites are: JL, Steven, Park Juwon, and perhaps Kairi.

Best vocalists: Park Han, JL, Bae Jaeho, Sirin.

Call me a hater, but I really don't get the hype of Zhang Shuaibo and Seo Jeongwoo.

I remembered Kyungho is participating on a survival show, but I didn't know which one. After a little check, I found out that Changsub is the mentor! Changsub has been my bias even before he debuted. I immediately started watching when it was only 2 eps aired. Wow, the system is completely different from other shows! I got hooked!

It's so cute when Bae Jaeho and Kijoong are head over heels for Changsub, then came Kwon Heejun became his fan as well 😆 What can you do when a vocalist as amazing as Changsub is showing off his vocal right in front of you for free? 🤭

What I hate about this show is as usual the staff keep showing the exact same trainees for more than 10 times in 1 eps 😑 How are we supposed to remember other trainee names and faces?? I was like "Who is this? Was he on this team the whole time?"

I don't understand the debut system. Is it going to be the top 7 trainees by online votes? Or is it going to be the team that wins at the end?

No, he is married and has sons as well. His wife planned to marry Dou Zhao with Ji Yong bcos Ji Yong is more promising than Wei Tingyu. So the switcheroo was also played by fifth aunt.

He is a good person. An honest official, loyal, family oriented man. He cares for Dou family, including Dou Zhao. He warned Song Mo to stay away from politics bcos he himself doesn't want Dou family to get involved. Sometimes Song Mo even discusses things with him bcos Dou Shishu is smart amd wise. Their relationship is good.

But in mainland, Meng Ziyi is really popular. Her Dou Zhao reached 50M popularity, which is very rare, esp for non traffic actors. She even ranks 2nd globally. This is a huge achievement 😭❤ As her fan since 5 years ago, I feel happy and proud 👍🏻 She has been getting more lead role scripts since the start of 2024.

Dou family is a large family, with a lot of sons and a few daughters. That's why they are divided into West Dou and East Dou branches. Seventh Master is on East Dou branch, while Fifth and Sixth Masters are on West branch. Fifth uncle on the novel is an honest official, loyal, family oriented man. He cares for Dou family, including Dou Zhao. He doesn't want Dou family to get involved in politics. He even warned Song Mo to be careful. Sometimes Song Mo even discusses things with him. In summary, the drama made him the villain 😭

That's why it should have been 36-38 eps! 😭 instead of taking time with Wang Yingxue, they should've put Jiang Yan's story in it. The poison and baby swap could be revealed on the same ep. I think introducing Jiang Yan for 1-2 eps is enough, until she is settled in Yizhi Hall. They should've stick with Jiang Yan instead of creating Su Yan. 😭

Lol I don't think it's true tho 😅 I mean, the books the old hermit showed are written "Ten/Eleven/Twelve Fold Purple" as pun for the novel title "Nine Fold Purple". Both the novel and drama ended wonderfully. If there is s2, ZhaoMo will be OLD 😭 Nah, I'd rather see them reunite in another drama 🙏

Is it bcos in the drama Dou Zhao is in her 30s? So it is harder for her to get pregnant? On the novel Dou Zhao is 17 and Song Mo is very *cough* horny *cough* so they do it very often.

I started reading the novel while they were still filming. Although there are many changes, the essential plots are still there. My only disappointments:
1. Dou Shishu became evil. Give me back my fifth uncle! 😭
2. Jiang Yan, where are you??? 😭
3. They butchered the kiss!!!! The director passionately taught the actors, the actors diligently did as they were told to, yet from ep 26, each kiss only lasted less than 1 sec 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ the bts is much better 😭
