Tbh before Blossom aired, I didn't expect anything too high. I just wanted to see my girl since this is her 3rd time being FL in costume drama. If any, hitting 28000 heat index already satisfy me. Anything beyond will be a bonus. Who would've thought Blossom became so popular and loved by people (mainland) 😭

Meng Ziyi has been popular, esp in this 2-3 years, but didn't get a lot of chances for leading roles. Thankfully since early 2024, she started getting choices and Blossom became her breakthrough role.

I knew Li Yunrui since RFY, and very grateful he chose Blossom bcos just like Dou Zhao was made for Meng Ziyi, Song Mo was made for Li Yunrui ❤

Meng Ziyi and Li Yunrui successfully brought Dou Zhao and Song Mo to live. The unbreakable relationship between Dou Zhao and Song Mo is shown beautifully to the end.

Combined with Director Zeng's excellent directing, beautifully crafted hanfu, brilliantly inserted cultural and historical aspects in their dialogues (that even c-audience highly praised), showcased the hardships the women had to go through during ancient time. The novel author is intelligent and really understands women, and thankfully the scriptwriter didn't betray this essence ❤

I finally finished reading the novel! It took me a long time, perhaps bcos I don't like modern settings and this novel is quite heavy. Tbh I skipped a lot of explanations 😥

There are not too many characters, but each of them have their own roles, and there is no wasted character. The characters development are very good too. They grow as the story goes.

Tbh from all characters, I hate Jing Xiu the most. Nope, she's NOT a villain. She's just dumb and barely has any importance to the story except being Zong Hang's friend.

Do I recommend the novel? If you like: fantasy, sci-fi, action, mystery, suspense, with subtle romance, this is good. It doesn't only tell from FL or ML pov, but also from secondary characters pov at some points.
