I had no plan to watch this, but since it only has 24 contestants, I gave it a try.

Now I have my faves:

I also like Fuko and Koko. Jiyoon was my fave bcos she has unique vocal, but her attitude turned me off 🤦‍♀️

I finally watched this after hesitating for a long time.

I want to show my hatred to:
1. Tushan grandma.
She is despicable, immature, idiot, control freak. She only cares about her own opinions and feelings. Which is more important, your happiness or your grandson's happiness? She doesn't care about him at all. It's her world and everyone else live in it. I've never seen a dying person to be so evil.

2. Fangfeng Bei.
Tbh I lost interest as soon as he appeared. "I fell in love at first sight to your beauty". Quack. For me he is fake. He is evil, but acts like a good boyfriend material. "I will kill your brother and then I'll marry you". Roll.

3. A Nian.
She must ask Xiaoyao to prescribe her medicines for brain stimulation bcos apparently she has none. She keeps acting like 5 y.o. not that I hate her, but her character is so boring and flat. Even Xinyue's bad first impression quickly changed.

I also don't like the fact Xiaoyao kept flirting with Bei while warning Jing to stay away from Yiying. Jing hates Yiying and doesn't give her "hope". Xiaoyao keeps tossing between Jing, Xiang Liu and Bei. The one she loves is Jing, but she also has feelings to some amounts for Xiang Liu and Bei, giving them hope. It's not right when you already confessed your love and became lovers, but still meeting and longing for other men.

The OST are beautiful. My most fave is 万物不如你 by Zhang Jie.

I watched this for Kim Jiwon and I'm glad I did bcos her chemistry with Kim Soohyun was amazing. The story is a mess, cliche, lazy with a lot of plot holes. The acting and chemistry of the lead actors saved this drama. Their visuals, OST and cinematography are stunning too.

Tbh Yoon Eunsung is pathetic loser. He reminded me of Mo Fang, but Mo Fang is better. Bcos Eunsung had more than 20 years to choose and become a good person, falling in love with someone else. No one was controlling him, watching him 24/7, forcing him to do evil deeds. He also kept trying to manipulate and hurt Haein, forcing her to love him.

Thank you for the novel link btw! ❤ I'm reading it diligently that I lost sleep 😅 it is so good! I can't stop reading! I was impatient, so I jumped to the ending tho 😅 While reading it, I can totally imagine Meng Ziyi and Liu Xueyi being the leads ❤ Jiang Taohua is similar to Hua Liuli, so it's easy for Meng to be her.

I seriously can't wait until this drama to air! (Man, they haven't even started filming!)

Would you believe if I say ML actually fell in love with FL the first time they met at that brothel? He confessed it very late bcos he is stubborn and tsundere. FL fell in love a few months later at some point. This is what makes ML insecure and anxious, thinking that she doesn't love him and will leave him. In fact, he has a LOT of rivals who want to take FL away.

FL was asked whether he loves ML or not. She said yes, but doesn't mean she will choose him over her own country (family) if the war breaks. This why I like them. He is actually helplessly in love, but she loves him just enough.

Btw don't worry to speak your opinions. You are just concerned about the rape issue. Me too. My hope is: they will follow the novel accurately (except the rape and harem part), especially their characteristics and the events. In the novel, the romance and politics are equally heavy, so I expect to see a lot of kiss scenes 😆

Let me try to explain it. Spoilers below!

I have to say their relationship is unique. They don't trust each other, don't love each other. They are using each other for their own good.

ML spares her life bcos he promised his master, and thinks she is still useful, as long as FL doesn't clash with his plans. He fell in love first, but isn't honest with his feelings bcos he never falls in love before.

FL is afraid of him bcos her life is on his hands, so she has to play the "obedient wife", and coax him. She thinks he might reluctant to kill her if they manage to build bonds. After a while, she actually has him on her palms.

On the outside they look like an affectionate couple, but they are more like frenemies. Sometimes cute and passionate, sometimes they want to strangle the other.

Actually the rape was ACCIDENT. He didn't intend to rape her, only scaring her. She was drugged and shouldn't be able to resist. He didn't expect she still had that much energy. She resisted badly that it accidentally went in. If you read again chapter 1-2 you would notice it. I found it weird at that time. Then it is explained halfway. I also guessed correctly regarding "sex matter" before it is revealed. In fact, she is the ONLY woman he has sex with bcos he has touched her.

Of course the drama will be different. The harem would most likely gone as well.

I love it when the leads have good relationship.

Meng Ziyi is bright and talkative, Li Yunrui is a sweetheart. Even off camera they interact comfortably . Their managers also became good friends. Their fans also respect each other. This harmonious atmosphere makes me happy. I'm already obsessed with them!

Moreover, they often reunite. Recent rumor said they will do another variety show together with Zheng Kai, Zhang Binbin, Lu Yuxiao, etc. I hope it's true so I can watch it while waiting for the drama to air.

I suggest you to read the novel. You can find the link on the discussion post above. There is a link of a long summary in English, it will save your time since the novel is super long.

Kong Xueer's character doesn't love Li Yunrui's. She is a bit miserable in the novel bcos she got married to Song Han, the villain. It is explained in the last few paragraphs. Let's hope she gets HE in the drama.

You should watch the anime. The LA focused more on the action instead of story.

Well I don't want it to be heavily focused on politics either 😅 but as far as I remembered, TLB doesn't have much romantic scenes, is it bcos the novel itself doesn't focus on romance? While Peach Blossoms novel highlights the relationship changes between the leads while she helps him succeeding his mission.

In the manga/anime they have deeper connection which made me like it. Enishi somehow softened his heart towards Kaoru. However in the LA, they barely had time to spend alone, so it was a pity.

I remembered China forbids harem in dramas. Shen Zaiye has about 6 concubines, excluding Taohua, and he keeps getting new ones after he disposes of the old ones. For fairness, he made rules and bed schedules. It's not that Zaiye is a womanizer. Families offered their daughters to him, and Shen Zaiye uses their families as his tools.

I don't want to see so many concubines, although they do have impacts to the story 🤔 it's just annoying they keep on scheming against Taohua while they themselves are either useless to Zaiye or almost ruin his plans.

I'm reading the novel and it is enemies to lovers troupe, not the blind love like you said. What he did in the first chapter is horrible, but he married her right away. Although he was planning to use her as sacrifice, his treatment to her changes significantly. He starts doting her and stays by her side most of the time. They sleep together a lot and have sex. He is in the middle of falling for her and seeing her as opponent. However FL doesn't love him as fast as he does. Even until chapter 70+ there is no sign she has fallen for him. They don't even trust each other. She tries to help him bcos she is scared of him and her life is in his hands, although he promised not to kill her. His subordinate mentioned that ML changed since FL appeared. He starts to become more humane and smiles more often.

I'm currently reading the novel. I was surprised that everything happened in just 15 chapters! I stayed up until 3AM just to read 😅

Now I understand their characters and somehow they are similar to Royal Rumours cp. Jiang Taohua is smart and skillful, but she uses her her beauty and acts innocent to survive. While Shen Zaiye is a sadist. He only cares about his goal. He thinks Taohua as his opponent, but quickly realized this woman is worth to be kept by his side and starts treating her differently.

I can totally see Meng Ziyi as Jiang Taohua, the descriptions in the novel perfectly fits her. It's also not exaggerating that Liu Xueyi will do perfect as the cruel, tsundere and handsome Shen Zaiye.

A. Both.
B. I think it only lasted 2 eps after the reunion. He just can't deny his feelings and knows she loves him. So he keeps teasing her.
C. Last eps 😅 officially after she finally confessed to him.

Trust me, just watch this if you love fluffy romcom. While watching this I felt like a loser for being solo 🤣

It might not be accurate.

1. 1000 vs 10 😅
They look so much like real couple. The angsty part is actually her backstory.

2. There's no definite answer since they go back and forth between reminiscing the past while living in the present. You will see pieces of their memories from time to time.

3. I had to check again. They accidentally met, but she ran away. They officially meet again on ep 8.

4. This one is hard bcos in the present, ML is angry and still at disbelief that she left him. They play push and pull after they meet again, but it is actually cute and will make you squeal 🤭

5. Nope. I must say, those who are compatible end up together.

6. I rated 9 bcos I'm really biased 🤭 I LOVE their chemistry. So natural. Tbh idc about the other 2 couples. I actually like this more than My Liberation Notes.

Chen Yuqi doesn't like to appear on variety unless it is about traveling and promoting cultures. Other reason she took this show is bcos of Zeng Shunxi. So I'm happy seeing Shunxi took care of her well so she wouldn't feel left out.

It's sad that this show doesn't have subs.

Well yk, cdrama MUST HAVE multiple couples. Since the novel/anime don't have another cp (except Eigetsu and Kourin), they had to create it from the most influential female character and paired her with either Seiran, Shuuei or Koyu. Juusan was tasked to marry either Ryuuki or Seiran, so it is easier for them to create second cp out of them.

I actually really like this drama. This one is silly, absurd, top it with mystery and action. When you thought the mystery is predictable, there will be plot twist, and another one. So it is fun to watch.

Shu is a silly and naive, hysterical boy. If you are used to dorama, his reaction is typical. However Shu is also a hardworking and devoted person. A really good kid. Btw he resembles Zheng Yecheng 🤭

Mitsuki on the other hand is a very mysterious girl. She doesn't talk much and always puts serious face. Sadly her character is static to the end. Perhaps bcos she burdens too much responsibilities or bcos she feels undeserved.

Death Prince is everyone's fav! Gosh he is crazy and charming! Narcissists, arrogant, and confident. You can't help but loving him! He is like the handsome and tall version of Choi Youngjun 🤣
