how you gonna compare a generational story of a family with real life historical background of the oppression…
I was referring to how it was filmed. The background setting, the progress, the conversation etc gave me the “Hallmark” vibe. It is base on a novel and I did not challenge the story. I know the Korean history really well.
Despite the ending, this movie gave me the heavy heart feeling. Mainly dislike Kim Rae Won character. He started as rude, mean, discrimination, bias, then weak and selfish. I didn’t like how the movie progress at all. This is a rough edge (not sweet) movie. The young boy and female characters were good. 6/10 for me
Feels good kind of movie. Easy light watch. No violent. Just some good acting of 4 main leads that suck you in. In Japan Male dominant society, it is nice to see women/housewife speak up and express their thought and feeling.
Really good movie. Nicely done. Many life value. So much up and down, more down then up, but he finally overcome all obstacle, with the courage of his wife and friend. There will always be mean and horrible people in the society, occasionally there will be kind and wise people around. It takes a lot to forgive (not forget) to move on in life, and haveclosure…
Beautiful movie. Story not new but it progress nicely. Beautiful scenery. It is raw, sweet, has depth in the character, some inspiration, courages. Nicely done.
At first, I thought the male lead looks too old to be high school boy. They both looks really good on last scene with the new haircuts 😍
Worth watching.
