noble idiocy should be banned from any drama. it's stupid, outdated, lazy writing.
This is not noble idiocy per se. Lady Park practically threatened Jung Woo she would do something to Soon Deok (kill her) if he didn't stay away from her. Knowing that Lady Park already killed several people, Jung Woo knew that it was not just an empty threat.
The fuck women!....why u pushing urself in a pit!....why ask THAT guy for marriage?!😱😭
Who do you mean, Peng Yuan's business partner Cong Shan? It's the typical spoiled girl attitude... she likes something, she wants it. No matter if he has a girlfriend or married already.
I watched the first 6 eps raw but is the FL’s bf cheating on her with that woman? it’s kinda hinting at it.…
I watched 6 episodes with subs, they're not perfect translations but I understand the convo. It's not clear if Peng Yuan, Xu Nuo's boyfriend, likes his business partner Cong Shan or not, but he is getting swayed, and the same situation also happens to Xu Nuo with Zhao Jin. Xu Nuo and Peng Yuan's relationship is definitely going towards a breakup since he focuses on the business startup with Cong Shan and his dad pushing him to be with her. I think the drama will not prolong this cheating thing, cos I saw on the airing calendar the emoji for Ep 13-14 is a lip/kiss. I take it as the kiss between Xu Nuo and Zhao Jin; she already broke up with Peng Yuan. Because there are still 10 more episodes to go after that, it seems like Xu Nuo and Zhao Jin still need to sort out their own problems for a smooth romance.
We also know that there are enough characters with marital problems. So it seems the drama theme is on that and the convos are heavy on the views/philosophy on singleness, marriage, divorce, and remarriage. It's not a drama for first-time lovers topic like most romance dramas released.
By the way, I never watch the K version so I don't have to compare/contrast. This is what I saw and felt watching the 6 episodes.
Ending was just forced I would have liked if the three spinter and their husband made a plan to rescue ML and…
The three sisters and their husbands saving Jung Woo and Soon Deok seem thrilling, but it will leave plot holes. It was made public that the couple had an affair, so the death sentence for Jung Woo by drinking poison (cos he's a royal son-in-law) is realistic, it's the law of that period. Only the King can fake that punishment. Also, this drama emphasizes strong female characters. So, it makes sense if Soon Deok takes her fate into her own hands, she refuses to be forced by Lady Park to commit suicide or be saved by others. She told Jung Woo her portion in saving herself was 80%, 20% belonged to the royal guards who came sent by the palace. MIL becomes weak because she realizes her family is ruined. Before, killing her husband and brother was to save her family (herself, Ye Jin, Soon Deok, and Geun Seok). But Ye Jin ruined the political marriage alliance with the Defense Minister's son and ran away with another man, Soon Deok had an affair with Jung Woo, and even the little boy knows what his grandmother did. That's why Lady Park looked lost, because she lost everything, without dramatic punishment.
For anyone who doesn't know who Park Moon Soo is (in Ep 16 the finale): He is a real historical figure. He is a Korean government official in the period of King Yeongjo in the Joseon dynasty. He was famous for his lifetime protecting the Korean people from corrupt royal officials. After passing the state examination, he later became a secret royal inspector. He is the most famous secret inspector in the history of Korea and has become something of a legendary figure, with many legends surrounding his achievements. source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Park_Mun-su
The royal secretary is talking about the fifth Park Moon Soo, probably because there were already previous Korean movies/dramas depicting this legendary character.
Awww... the King is my second favorite character after Lady Samsoon! Rarely do we have a wise king (and funny, too!) as a supporting character in historical dramas. Either they are bad kings or just filler characters as there must be a king for a palace plot. I bet he loves Jung Woo like his own son!
But the big question is... will it have an English sub???
