If you meant the General, there's a painting of him that was brought by the shaman's granddaughter to Cha Woong. Seul Hae must've seen that painting in the next episode.

Well, I think Seul Hae doesn't tell anyone at the police department when she takes the illegal gambling case with Cha Woong. It's just base on the dead Mr Kim's plea. So, I think in the next episode we'll see that Hee Soo finds out she partnering with Cha Woong that he asks her to choose him or Cha Woong for the investigation matter. Even if there is a love triangle, the set up reminds me of Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, in which FL has a crush on SML but SML treated her like a sister until ML comes along...

We'll definitely see the main plot revealed and some police cases, but I'm actually curious about the background stories of our trio ghosts and how they met Cha Woong in the beginning. Also the General and his past life, why he needs so many virtue points to enter Nirvana?

You're right. I basically like every modern fantasy drama. Like you, I was interested by the time this drama was announced, but bit hesitated with the suicide theme because the contrast of watching the 'fun adventure' tackling issues of the characters and the depth of the suicide cases. So far, the drama is able to balance it, imo.
