omg you're right, lol! this one is adapted from a Chinese novel so idk if it's written before or after DOTS ;D
hahaha I'm glad you enjoyed DOTS. I myself only finished watching DOTS a few months back cos I was quite new in dramaland so I missed the hype when it was aired back then.
Where can I find these Thai novels translated in English? Many times lakorns do not have English sub, so knowing the story if the novels are translated are helpful. Especially since many of them have been adapted to dramas for decades, should be somewhat popular! I read some Chinese novels and Chinese manhuas that are translated and adapted to dramas, cos knowing the endings especially for Chinese dramas that can be tragic are important to me.
I watched Goblin, HDL, and MPUB and are okay with them cos I usually don't care about fantastical age gap (where one character somewhat non human or never dies so it's like hundreds years old). It's a matter of do they look like having a huge gap between them (either older male or older female). I did put dramas with huge gap that I'm uncomfortable with into Not Interested List. I finished RIABB too, and same with the previous commenter, though I like the story but I felt FL looks better with SML instead of with ML which is Lee Jong Suk. Probably because LJS is too pretty, lol.
I watched it sometime ago right after the sub is completed. 3 things stood out: 1) the ML is not your typical all-around skilled martial artist lol as usually ML in costume C-drama. He cannot even fight with a dagger, lol. But that's kinda refreshing; 2) his friendship with a bunch of people is amazing, great support system; 3) the frozen scenes of fighting are really cool.
I have seen more and more dramas ROMANTICIZING MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. Unfortunately, this over-rated drama seems is one of them. I'm so bummed cos I planned to make IOTNBO as my 1-year MDL anniversary drama. I actually enjoyed the patients, OJS's acting, and the brothers' interaction. But I had to drop it. Besides, it's boring and I found the FL is somewhat mean (without proper redemption which is professional help) PS. Professionally, I took care of patients with mental health issues in the past.

The two things I would love to try or have more of them are running and home cooking. With the COVID19 quarantine I have sat too much on the couch watching dramas while munching snacks instead of doing some exercise and cook healthy meals. But again... do you think that the time needed for running (for exercise) and cooking will take times away from watching dramas??? LOL
From the summary up above, it feel like a remake from kdrama "Jewel in the palace". Am I right?? May anyone tell…
I just finished watching this. I have not watched JITP. Worthy watching? Maybe, if: - you like romcoms - you like palace politics - you don't mind bitchy females (not the main FL but the rest female cast) - you don't mind seeing half-bald guys (it's in their fashion style in that dynasty) - you don't mind with abrupt ending - you don't mind modern stuff fused into supposedly ancient culture
Having 2 of my fave actors in this drama, it has been in my PTW list since the airing date was set, I'm waiting this to finish and completely subbed as usual. I like that Blitz picking this up, they are good in explaining Japanese culture and language idioms to international viewers
