Yes, even though we understand why a character is doing certain things, it does not mean they are doing the right things. It is only natural that others call it out. No need to get defensive and go all out to defend one's favourite. It is what it is.
Gosh, you should have seen S1. It was madness in the comment section. I would go in, scroll once down and just close the page.😅 Like woah...so much unkindness and fighting. I understand the passion regarding the favourites, but how come so fierce to each other when everyone is a fellow fan?

Harsh unkind words / actions do not reflect well on the fans of any fandom. Though I like Jing and XL, I would be the first to say they are not perfect and have their flaws which influence their actions. But that is what makes them, them. If Jing were harder, he would not be kind. And XY loves that quality of Jing, kindness. If XL were softer, he would not have been able to take care of the CengRong army.

I think each of the character does what in their respective POV is right for XY.
XL does not even need to do any of the things CX / Jing does (following and sending spies on her) because XL is with XY 24/7 due to the bug connection. He knows exactly where she is and what she is doing and if she is in danger.
Jing peeping at XY from the CCTV is quite comedic actually. I mean what in the world are CCTVs doing in a magical place like LYF? Guess that is how the drama was trying to show he was pining for XY but could not be near her?
From my POV, all 3 stalk her in their own ways. No one is exempt. But I do believe they all love her very much. The top 2 for me have always been Jing and XL. What I pointed out does not mean either one of them is less than. But I think we should be honest about each of their shortcomings that makes them, them.
I like how TH weaves real life characteristics into these characters. This is not a fairytale where everyone is perfect. But the script and post production editing does not do all these beautiful characters justice. Leaves room for misunderstandings especially if one has not read the novel.
So much angst because of a crappy script. Sighs... I think all 3 guys CX, Jing & XL are victims of a butchered script and storyline in S2.
And the topic about Jing being a stalker. To be fair, if based on what we are seeing in the DRAMA ONLY (as not all the drama viewers have read the novel and know the context), CX, Jing & XL are stalkers in their own way. It is not specifically only Jing.
CX does it out of a XY obsession. He thinks they belong together. Lurking in the shadows, springing an appearance and interrupting when things start warming up for the YaoJing couple is his way of not letting another man touch XY. In his mind XY belongs to him. And remember he also has spies keeping an eye on XY and reporting back to him.
Jing does it to protect XY from what he thinks could result in a dangerous situation for XY. He stealthily follows XY and jumps out to protect XY when he thinks XL is getting too aggressive with XY. If not, he pretty much just follows along like a puppy from a distance never interrupting. From a businessman pov, he is protecting his interests.
XL does not physically follow XY around because he does it via Remote Bug Control. He knows what is going on because of the bugs. That is like CCTV / satellite stalking. It also enabled him to pop by to save XY when he sensed she was in danger. And with that connection, he was able to save XY with his multiple lives. Noble intentions but that is also being a stalker via the bugs. Not to mention the irony of him feeling his competition's (Jing) sweet kiss. Eeeks!! Dang!! LOL
So there, all of them are stalkers. None of them are exempted. 🗡️🦊🐍

No one likes their favourite character to be put down and we also need to remember this drama did not do the characters justice like the novel. Drama made characters look weaker than they should be or crazier than they should be or like a silly airhead. It is ok to share a POV, but as we cannot all like the same things, there would be things that trigger us about certain characters. So let's be mindful of how we phrase our comments.
