More Violent Than Before
While I really like the 1rst season, I understood that it was new and most of the cast weren't used to working together in that capacity. I looked forward to improvement in season 2. When Kwang Soo couldn't return, I lowered my expectations. Season 2 was still enjoyable, but it was very random and seemed to lose itself. I still was looking forward to Season 3. This last season was a big surprise in that it's fairly graphic for what is essentially a variety show. I feel like they were trying to go more in the direction of a crime drama and less with comedy this time around. There were some pros and cons to this. While it did make the episodes more cohesive and tied up loose ends of the other seasons a little, it was incredibly scripted. For all the manufactured "dangerous" situations, there was so little sense of urgency from the cast members that it made it annoying. If someone is at risk of dying and needs to be saved, why would you casually stand around as a group outside to discuss the clues you found and how they led you to where you are now? Also, they focused a lot on one particular person and I don't understand why. Won't mention who cause it feels like it would be a spoiler somehow. I need to check if they had a drama coming up, lol. Despite how scripted it was, not much was predictable which was the best part. There were plenty of surprises. While there were less funny moments, the ones that were there were hilarious. If you're looking for this to be like the first 2 seasons, they you probably won't like this one. But if you enjoy the ride of watching this cast work their way through various puzzles, you'll probably enjoy it.
