Fan Changyu is my favorite so far. I love that she starts as a practical, down-to-earth woman whose main goal…
The bathtub scene was quite surprising for a full-length drama. Usually, they only hint that the male predator also sexually exploits his victim. Here, they actually showed what most productions don’t dare to depict. I think a large part of that is thanks to the director, who specialized in exactly these kinds of shots in his short-form dramas. Just think about how inventive and bold the erotic moments were in Butterflied Lover! I’m probably just desensitized from watching so many micro- and mini-dramas where steamy scenes are basically the entire plot, but I genuinely don’t understand why some viewers (probably the more “innocent” ones) are so disgusted by this scene or accuse it of romanticizing violence. This is a C-drama, after all. Visual aesthetics almost always take center stage here. The visual effect often matters more than strict narrative realism. The story needs that painterly, picturesque framing. To me, those "bathtub antics" were simply there to please the eye. They don’t hire unbelievably good-looking actors only to portray even scenes of sexual violence in an intentionally ugly or off-putting way. How could they possibly make it look repulsive when the perpetrator is Deng Kai? This is a drama meant to attract the masses, so expecting gritty realism here is, in my opinion, the height of naivety.
Everything seems to be heading in that direction. He will most likely die saving Yu Qian Qian, because he understands…
Therefore, they’ll probably go for the safest compromise. He sacrifices his own life so she can finally be free of the greatest danger - him. They don’t end up together, but for once he does something genuinely good for her and their son: he leaves their lives for good. At the same time, his previous vile actions don’t go unpunished. He murdered relentlessly until he himself met the same violent end. A similar fate befell the ruthless and debauched emperor and the princess in Fated Hearts.
@Daenerys U please see the comments just below my comment. This is exactly what im talking about. 2nd couples…
What an absurd demand to forbid people from admiring supporting characters in a drama! “Please can we put comments related to the drama” - excuse me, but they ARE in the drama, they have significant roles and screen time. Talking about them in no way takes away any glory or appreciation from the leads. And by writing the same kind of comment for the umpteenth time, ironically you yourself are the one hyper-focusing on the supporting roles. No one is stopping you from posting praise for the main characters. Let people pay attention to whatever aspects of the show matter to them, even if from your perspective those things seem unimportant or unnecessary.
This drama has a history of giving bad characters some redemption while still making them dead (lol). Given this,…
Everything seems to be heading in that direction. He will most likely die saving Yu Qian Qian, because he understands perfectly that his death is the only thing that can truly set her free from him forever. This is the one way he can let her go and give her a life without fear.
Deng Cai does both short dramas and long.He has done many 1rst ml roles in short dramas.
Deng Kai actually almost never plays clearly good characters. In fact, he specializes in portraying perverse, complex male leads. One of his best roles, and a rather positive one, was in The Maid. It’s a very well made short drama with strong performances. He had excellent chemistry with his co star there. One of his more famous roles is in Broken the Heart. However, in that drama he mistreated the female lead and relentlessly tormented her. It’s more of a drama for viewers who appreciate sadomasochistic themes and enjoy watching darker desires.
As for me, the drama wasn’t bad. Just a typical story, not particularly emotionally engaging, but visually very attractive. The ML and FL had no chemistry, but they looked gorgeous. They’re also talented, it’s just that in this project they couldn’t really show their full potential.
I also don’t get why he only gets supporting roles and just can’t break into the top league. In terms of looks…
Spot on observation that’s the same director who’s probably largely responsible for Ryan Cheng’s success. He also helped Li Yun Rui shine, who before that was only doing supporting roles. Fingers crossed his ‘golden touch’ works again this time too.

Wondering what the hell the rules are for career upgrades in this industry. Some rookies with zero experience land ML roles in massive-budget dramas right off the bat, while others grind for years killing it in micro and mini-dramas and still can’t get those big prestigious parts. Feels like it’s all luck + connections tbh. Hoping Deng Kai pulls a Ryan Cheng-level glow-up soon. Ryan went from short dramas to legit leading man status, so why not him? I’ve got a few faves I’m rooting for hard. Like, Chen Si could at least start getting short dramas instead of being stuck in pure micro ones forever. The guy’s talent, that insane charisma and his voice? Still blows my mind every time. Come on, give them a real shot already!
If Deng Kai dont break trough with this drama idk what will. Wee need him in big drama ML role hate to love trope…
I also don’t get why he only gets supporting roles and just can’t break into the top league. In terms of looks and acting skills, he outshines a lot of the main leads. Luckily, he rules in short dramas. What really captivates me about him is that he can look unbelievably hot and seductive one moment, and then kind of ugly in his own unique way the next. But no matter what, he always draws your attention.
One of my absolute favorite microdramas. It’s basically a twisted Little Red Riding Hood kind of story: except here they start seducing each other almost immediately. The seemingly innocent girl quickly wraps the dangerous wolf around her little finger; before long he’s completely eating out of her hand and getting tamed in record time. Their constant teasing and playful banter is fantastic and genuinely funny. The way they keep provoking and challenging each other makes their dynamic incredibly entertaining. The kissing scenes and romantic moments are intense, beautifully shot, and full of chemistry. Liu Xi Yu delivers one of her best performances here. With those adorable chubby cheeks, she’s absolutely perfect for the role of a seemingly shy but actually clever and determined young girl. And Chen Si… as always, he doesn’t disappoint. In the young marshal uniform, he’s incredibly attractive. That cold, commanding aura paired with the intense way he gazes at her is simply lethal. Part of me really hopes he’ll get the opportunity to appear in full-length dramas someday, because he clearly has the talent for bigger roles. But at the same time, I feel like we as viewers would lose something. Longer dramas tend to be much more restrained and conservative, cutting out or toning down exactly the kind of spicy, intense scenes Chen Si excels at. And here’s a slightly controversial opinion: acting in micro and short dramas is actually more demanding. The scripts are often completely over-the-top or even ridiculous and that’s precisely why it takes a truly talented and charismatic actor to turn that kind of material into a believable and memorable character. Chen Si manages to do exactly that. Highly recommended if you enjoy fast-paced microdramas with strong chemistry, playful tension, and a bit of spice.
I hate dailymotion so much. I pay IQIYI/YOUKU/WeTV/VIki because I can't stand ads, and I suffer through poor subtitles…
I watched it on Dailymotion too. To get rid of those annoying ads, I recommend installing the free uBlock Origin extension. It really works and lets you enjoy the drama without interruptions. Highly recommend!
Though maybe it’s not actually that bad, because back in January this year you could still watch Love as a Cure…
I agree. Especially since these are personal matters and grudges that don’t actually affect other people. I come from a country where we swing to the complete opposite extreme: a public figure can basically never truly disgrace themselves and very often, scandals, controversies, or even their “moral downfall” end up bringing them financial and career gains. That said, there are offenses that fully deserve social ostracism. At the same time, I appreciate that in China there are strict laws against tax evasion, because it essentially means stealing from one’s (often much poorer) fellow citizens.

I found the theme song from Infinite Cycle of Love. Looks like there weren’t any more tracks besides that one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTn-e8yZXLM&list=RDwTn-e8yZXLM&start_radio=1
