It’s rather an open ending. In my opinion, the characters end up together, but we don’t see it on screen. It's more of a guess than a fact. The ending, like the whole story, is a bit unclear and confusing. We are meant to conclude the story in our own heads. At least, that’s my interpretation of the ending.
A solid drama, but the ending was disappointing, although it fit the overall tone of the series. It must be admitted, however, that there was chemistry between the lead actors. This actress often clicks with her on-screen partners.
This drama last too long because of this one ep per day thing, but for story like this 30 eps idk...FL previous…
I really enjoyed this drama all the way to the end. That said, I think some viewers will be frustrated with the final episodes. There's a lot of drama, tears, and character actions that don't make much sense. The heroine's revenge feels underwhelming. She can't carry it out calmly, methodically, or with a proper plan; instead, she just lashes out blindly at her enemies. The worst thing, in my opinion, is what the writer did: there were no more passionate moments between the main characters, and we didn't even get a courtesy kiss in the finale. Despite these flaws, I still ended up liking the series more than I probably should have.
For those who prefer to know the ending in advance, I reveal it in the spoiler below.
It is a happy ending. The final caption reads: “You only have one life. Live it to the fullest and take control of your destiny. After all, only you are the will of Heaven.”
Is it me or does the plot deflate a little from ep. 20-ish forward?
Yeah, I feel the same. Once she forgave him and they started working together (which is exactly what we, as viewers, wanted), things got a bit less exciting. That tension from the early “enemies” phase, like in The Maid, is suddenly gone. But they gave us that steamy scene in episode 22 (unfortunately interrupted by too many flashbacks), and after that my complaints pretty much stopped. There are actually quite a few well-executed intimate scenes like that throughout the series.
Same here! The ML completely stole my heart and the FL is absolutely glowing. I’m already obsessed. Totally…
It turns out that I’ve seen several dramas with this actor. For some reason, I kept confusing him with Li Dai Kun, even though they don't look very similar. Both of them, however, have that refined, elegant beauty that looks absolutely stunning in princely or general’s outfits. So far, the production is just as good as The Maid. The female lead is completely focused on revenge, and romance is the last thing on her mind.
I totally agree! This mini-drama is way better executed than Fight for Love, even though that one had a bigger budget. The main couple also has great chemistry and they’re absolutely adorable together on screen 🥰
Amazing!I saw this today! Love ML now FL looks great. Its my cup of tea. Lets go! 😍
Same here! The ML completely stole my heart and the FL is absolutely glowing. I’m already obsessed. Totally my type of drama! I highly recommend Aligned Reverence! It has amazing chemistry and two super cute couples. The romance is more subtle and soft, with really pretty, delicate kisses. Compared to The Architect, which has a much spicier vibe, this one is pure gentle sweetness.
Ep 15, "Let me take you to kill." LOL, most direct line in a mini costume drama to date.
For a split second I thought he was going to kill her. 😂 Thankfully, he only meant killing her stepmother’s lover. Instead of flowers and dinner, we’re going together to slit the throats of the people who hurt you. It perfectly captures the vibe of this unhinged couple’s relationship.
This character hasn’t appeared yet. He is played by Gan Wang Xing. The main male lead is Sun Chengxiao, who is…
Something felt off to me too, so I went and checked the cast. Looks like the white-haired second male lead is gonna be just as tempting as the main guy. Apparently both of them are gonna fight like crazy over the FL. The production quality is a bit meh, honestly, but so far I'm actually enjoying this drama. Those 30 episodes are kinda worrying me though. Let's hope they manage to keep us hooked till the end.
I complained earlier in a comment about the lack of story, but it's actually worse. They tried to give us a story, but did it in a horribly clumsy way. It would've been better to just focus on the steamy moments, of which there are surprisingly few here. And while the kisses were good, the main couple's relationship lacked that spark. Really clunky direction and acting from the supporting cast. To have such hot and gorgeous actors like Fang Jin and Yan Zi Xian and waste their potential like that. An unforgivable crime.

I don’t think there’s a version with just the “aaaahhhaaaahhh.” I really liked it too. Li Mofei (李沫非) sings it.
The main male lead is Sun Chengxiao, who is not listed in the cast on MDL.
