I'm disappointed by the turn of events and that it's so focused on their work. They could have focused on his daughter, on their relationship. This unnecessary drama with Career way is boring to me. Too bad.

Directing and screenwriting did lots of things wrong but chemistry is definitely here.

If you don't like sad dramas don't watch it. I would say the first 10 episodes were really romantic even in a warzone. Too cheesy for me even. But then it touches really sad topics, like death, PTSD and guilt. There are only 18 episodes aired but it's gonna be sadder I think. So in 18 episodes I would say it was 40% sad so far but the worse might be coming.

I think one of them changed numbers after the war event because at the airport she shows him her phone number on her phone. He just watches it and remembers it. From this airport scene. Not from before

I really loved episode 17 and 18. It made me really emotional. Great acting and the drama is now more balanced between angst and romance. ❤️

I get what you're saying. The problem is that there are only a few formats. Around 40 episodes, 24 episodes and really short episodes. It's almost every time in these formats. So sometimes they stretch the story to fit.

I've discovered her in Everlasting love and I find that she was a very good actress so I'm happy to see her here as well.

In this drama, the country "attacked" is fictional, the attacker is never named. We don't know anything about the conflict. Chinese volonteers, soldiers or journalists are all mixed. So it's not only China that is defending or helping this Eastern country (fictional name). They speak English while abroad except with Chinese colleagues. So in that sense it's tame. But of course all the Chinese are particularly helpful and nice and brave.
But as it is all fictional, there are lots of things that don't make sense and you'll have to shut a part of your brain 😅 Like in this Eastern country inhabitants are from all ethnies, they speak English with foreign accents.

I agree. We have to be open to other culture, every country paint themself in a certain way in movies. It's not easy because we have to reflect before we judge. I feel that this drama is quite tame on this front.

I've grown up with american movies on TV in my country and it was always the USA the center of the universe. Always them the saviours. It was crazy 🤣 . It was so much more exaggerated than that. I agree with you that it's unrealistic but it's a Chinese drama and they paint themself and the main characters as good guys of course. Because it's a romance, it doesn't have to be accurate. They could have done much worse in my opinion.

My opinion is that the number of episodes is not the problem, it's just the quality. Some 40 episodes dramas are so enjoyable you're never bored and some 24 episodes one are impossible to finish. Even kdrama with 16 episodes can be too long if not well done all the way until the end. Some chinese dramas are very short (10 min episodes) and it can be nice but sometimes the quality is so bad that it's not better.

It doesn't look like it. I love his hair in this drama. I think we got use to them having a perm on longer hair.

It can't be helped. In every war there are 2 sides and the ones that help. The country making the movie will always be the saviour or the one that is right. I think in this drama it's not that much. Yes they're the saviours but nothing more.

To be convincing, the actress must have masculine face. And most of the FLs are very feminine and petite so it would be difficult.
