He didn't die. He was pulled from the past to the future by his son. It was always meant to be that way. So he didn't die or disapperead but he was just pushed 5 years forward. And his son can find lost things or maybe persons as soon as they get lost. So he found him as soon as he got lost aka pulled in the future. As usual it's a loop than cannot change. There is no beginning and no ending.

He was never dead. He was in the future all this time because his son brought him from the fire to 5 years forward. It's a loop like everything else in the drama.

It's because his son summoned him in the future that he seemed lost to all of them! It's a loop so it was always because of the son that he went missing. I think it's brilliant.
