Review Double Helix
Well, don't watch a dark romance if you can't handle it. It's always a good idea to check the tags before watching…
Silly child. Don't read my reviews if you can't handle criticism. πŸ˜„ I don't hand out 10s willy nilly. To each their own. There are good dark romances and then there is this pile of ####.

Can someone help - which episode does the character Shao You, portrayed by Fa Xuan Ge, appear in? I just wanted to rewatch it but I don't remember where I saw him. I don't remember this character.

Lol you gave it 4 and you are trying to convince people to rate it low. Nopeee 10/10 even if there is AI
Yeah I reduced the rating further coz of AI use. I mean people who have no problem with rape can't be expected to lower rating for problems like AI that is destroying fresh water sources and destroying our planet now can they?

I guess that's not really a problem. Right?
It is for those that hate AI usage and avoid gen AI because they understand the damage. I don't understand why they needed to generate so many scenes with AI when they can easily use drones. AI destroys our environment and it should be considered a problem. We should try to dissuade productions from using it.

arhm I know there are flaws but here is the thing, I have been trying to undergo diagnosis for Bipolar Disorder,…
Don't focus on the drama. If your symptoms are affecting aspects of your daily life, that's enough sign for you to speak to a professional. Just don't ignore it please.

I don’t have a psych degree lol, but his symptoms seem to align more with BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder)
I'd say Borderline Personality Disorder with perhaps delusions sounds more probable than bipolar. I feel like the writers read BPD and confused the two.

Well lu feng is rich you can meet a doctor anywhere. Also he wasn't actually getting treatment just counseling…
It's not about being rich but in a professional setting, if a patient is violent, the doctor has protections like staff handy or an escape route. Similarly, a patient has protections from being harmed. Also, in a hotel room, a patient can claim the doctor assaulted him and the doctor can lose their license. At least the doctor should not visit their patient alone for these reasons.

Yes, it's one thing to share the diagnosis and treatment plan and completely different to share the entire medical file.

Lol. What? I don't think they share the info. Exactly, unless the patient is a minor I don't think that happens,…
Hah! I forgot about the whole gun issue just because I was glad YiChen was no longer hostage. That should have been a police case even if people are rich. This drama took too many liberties on every issue you've mentioned.

Oh my gosh, no no. I'm grateful to you for telling me though. I'm sure now that I don't want to watch it.

Finally finished it! Phew!

People are happy his red flags are explained away by bipolar disorder? πŸ˜‚ He certainly had some disorder but not bipolar. Plus severe abandonment issues. But even if we take drama diagnosis as fact, what is a person with bipolar disorder who rapes? A rapist.

Wish Yi Chen also got some therapy while Lu Feng was hospitalised but whatever.

The only couple that made me smile is little Yi Chen and Qin Lang. Mainly coz of Qin Lang. Yi Chen looks like a child (maybe coz the actor is very young).

The show started out interesting and then nosedived for me in the last 4 - 5 episodes. Now I'm curious how the movie ended but I don't think I can watch this story again.

Still watching ep12 but which psychiatric meets patients in a hotel room? This is not just bad for patients but also doctors. Also unless you have the patient's consent or the patient is mentally incapable, I don't see how you can share their medical information with someone else. Yi Chen isn't legally married to Lu Feng. I don't know if China's rules are different but I doubt it. This was weird. So many things wrong with this drama.

Well, this show is fiction and Lu Feng isn't a real person, is he? Try to keep fictional characters in fiction…
Rape is violence already even if the victim doesn't understand it. Though he did understand it the first time and walked out. But now their relationship is so unhealthy that he is just willing to put up with anything that resembles love. And Yi Chen doesn't even know what a healthy relationship should look like so I can't completely blame him.

I'm not sure if by "they" you meant me but I do believe in reformed criminals just not rapists and pedophiles. In the character's case, I was still okay with them getting a happy ending and looking forward to it. Then he drugged Yi Chen and held him captive because he was angry. He has no right to be since he nearly killed 2 people. Then he made Yi Chen want to die. So yeah I was done with this love story. 😊

You said my mind exactly, people should imagine if sth like this happened to their siblings cause this type of…
Exactly! If you realise your sibling is dating someone that is terrible for them, won't you try you save them? Even if your actions are dumb like deleting their messages your intentions are to protect them from harm. I think it's quite natural.

I don't know. I feel like a lot of viewers are in their rebel era where you are more attracted to what people try to keep you away from. Lol. Yi Chen himself needs therapy. He never got to experience what real love is. All he knows is Lu Feng love bombing him and now he wants to keep experiencing that but instead all he gets is Lu Feng's jealousy, obsession, anger, control in between physical intimacy. He's putting up with everything just to feel loved. I feel sad for him but also annoyed that he still can't stand up for himself and ask for what he deserves. Yet to see the finale.

When I see people saying they want to cry because they'll never find a Lu Feng, that's them not realising how dangerous such characters are. So I'm quite disturbed by Lu Feng being romantised.

I'm very concerned by how all of you are gushing over him and making excuses for him but you all to want to slap and punch the brother when he was a dumb kid. Do you all forget that his brother is a fictional character when you keep saying you hate him or this advice is only for Lu Feng haters?

At least hating a rapist makes sense. I don't care how pitful they make him out to be. It doesn't cancel out his reality. And yes I'm hating on a fictional character not the actor and that is exactly the kind of reaction a red flag deserves.

He is enraging the actor really does an excellent job. The first episode was really effective to make me despise…
Same! The other 2 guys I am like okay at least they work with Zhao even if it's because she puts them in a position to comply. But they aren't completely evil. But damn this man Xiao Xun. When she loved him, he not only killed her father but her too. At least I'm glad she tried her best to capture and kill him but she really should be more ruthless.

How's the romance in this?
Not as much romance since it's mostly a political drama but the chemistry is great.

People still hate the brother but not the rapist boyfriend? Meanwhile the brother and his boyfriend are the ones in a healthy relationship. Qin Lang is the only one I feel like watching the drama for.

I just couldn't stand them being lovey dovey again. Lu Feng did nothing to make up for what he did other than crying for Yi Chen to not leave him. I'm glad the brother left Yi Chen to do whatever he wants. Yi Chen loves misery because it doesn't take much to trigger Lu Feng and he's accepted his fate.

Real life Lu Fengs will punch you and kill you if you ever think about leaving them. They are family annihilators. Just dressed up to be rich and handsome in dramas for the approval of audiences.
