These two people are honestly insane. They talk about and react to murder as if it's as normal as drinking water. Killing seems almost disturbingly routine here, bordering on a dystopian level.
The professor is a professional killer. He meticulously plans every move and executes them flawlessly. He even deceives his own housekeepers to keep his true nature hidden. Despite this, he genuinely admires his student for her genius. However, she poses a great risk due to her reckless behavior. I suspect he sent her away to prevent her from uncovering his crimes. Yet, he remains captivated by her exceptional talent as a neurosurgeon.
On the other hand, she is an amateur killer—reckless, prone to mistakes, yet convinced her murders are perfect. It seems she started killing in self-defense. At first, she was shocked, but when her professor reacted nonchalantly to her first murder, she realized he was also a killer. His words "Can you manage it by yourself? became the turning point that led her down the path of serial killing. As an obsessive student, she began justifying her actions: "If he kills, what's wrong with me killing?"
She idolizes her professor to the point of trying to become his carbon copy. She craves his recognition, wanting to be his one and only student. Her jealousy flares whenever someone else vies for his attention. She trusts him with all her heart, but he betrays her when he expels her from the operating room and sends another person to Boston in her place.
Now, she is torn and furious at him, yearning for revenge, yet still deeply drawn to him. If she ever had the chance to operate on his brain, I doubt she would do any real harm. Strangely enough, he also seems willing to trust his life in her hands. Their relationship is bizarre yet fascinating.
But in the end, they are both psychopaths killer doctors obsessed with brains. Their priorities are clear: BRAIN first, then SURGERY, then EACH OTHER. And they will stop at nothing to eliminate anyone who threatens their interests.
