this is underrated. chilling story. watch it in 1 or 2 sittings. yes, they should cut it into a movie or 4 episodes, not 8. but if you like something different to most BL and a twisted crime/gangster trope, watch it. the ending isn't open for the main cp, so you can enjoy the love story :) It's better than a 6.5. at least a 7.5. it's really not bad. treat it as a movie where things are rushed and characters not explained, where the viewers must fill in the gaps.
for me, I don't care about physical cheating , only emotional. so they kissed once besides their training and filming. it's a drama, it's supposed to be morally borderline.
What was the deeper meaning/message you got out of this BL? (spoiler it please)
it was about the entertainment industry and them being gay and then fighting to finish their production. it wasn't super deep but I didn't expect it. a bit like sparkle in your eyes.
But I'm curious how did he forget about the pain I mean they went pretty hard last light so..... And seems like…
all these hard first time penetrations in BL without prep and between 2 beginners so soon after their first kiss are very unrealistic. so, let's assume he was so relaxed and they had some sort of lube that it didn't hurt him at all. and alcohol is a pain killer, too.
What I like about Chinese BL is they aren't shallow. the dialogues were really interesting and touching. even so this was very low budget and their chemistry was more platonic than physical, I liked the script and the actors. kissing scenes were bad as in any mediocre c-drama but overall acting was nice. now, because Chinese actors get shadow banned as actors when their BL becomes popular, I get why they didn't promote it.
fork! so so good. the tension between them and even the drama they're filming and their overall acting is captivating. and don't stop when the credits roll! there's an additional scene at the end! fast forward to watch it.
but 2 Asians falling in love at a catholic boarding school and one is a rebellious newcomer, is quite unique. I don't see why it's not inspired by the Taiwanese movie.
love her and love the character she plays. was that character written for her? it fits so well. but his character starts to lag. he appeared more complex and emotional in the beginning.
