why do you keep watching shows you hate? come on! drop it
No, I definitely don't think anyone is faking their enjoyment. 😊I don't know about rating anything a 10 though, I would find it difficult to give any show a 10 (not just BLs). I mean the perfect show? Does that even exist? πŸ˜‚

People seem very generous with their ratings! I must be getting old and cranky! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

omg MDL app is so messy at redirecting comments to the wrong comment 😭😭😭 maybe I should stop answering…
The MDL app is crap... I only use it for light browsing while on the move. Better stick to PC if you want to answer any comments or post anything.

Don't worry, I don't think you're trying to change my mind. It's just a discussion at the end of the day - none of this needs to be taken too seriously. We're not discussing human rights violations, it's just a BL show. I'm not here to change anyone's mind, it's just banter, exchange of thoughts and opinions, and general chit chat with other fans.

I didn't really start watching this because of Est and William, in fact, I didn't even know either of them were going to be in it. I generally do not subscribe to any particular couple(s). I do have some favourite actors and couples from GMMTV, but that doesn't mean I exclude other shows.

I will mainly watch a show based on whether I think it sounds interesting. Sadly, it didn't quite work out with this one, but I still enjoy some aspects of it. However, I fully appreciate that others will like it, and I'm not here to prove them wrong.

Voicing a negative opinion or giving negative feedback on something does not mean you're trying to undermine anyone else, or be evil or nasty. A wise person once said: β€œThink not those faithful who praise all thy words and actions; but those who kindly reprove thy faults.” In that spirit, I believe negative feedback is just as important as positive feedback - if not more so - as long as it is constructive and based on reason.

As for people basing their decision on whether to watch something after reading comments, well, at the end of the day they have to make up their own minds. That same wise person also said: "To find yourself, think for yourself". It's your time, your preferences, your enjoyment, your entertainment - not someone else's.

Have a good day.

Maybe you are not the target audience. I can say also the same things with their previous series (not good imo)…
I’m European. I think our soaps are slightly different over here which may account for some of the differences in perception.

Perhaps but I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one 😊

It's possible this type of comedy is getting lost in translation.

I sometimes like to persevere through a show for various reasons. I found invasion on Apple TV slow and disjointed, yet I still watched 2 seasons of it before dropping the third one (even though some people say it gets interesting so who knows I might pick it up again).

I do like the side characters and want to know what happens with Mok/Rome and Tawan/Aran. I watch some of the Thee/Peach stuff as well, but fast forward some of it when it gets too grating.

I also like how Est looks in that suit and his flustering when William is around (or Mok and Rome I should say)😊

I don't hate the series. This is what I don't get sometimes - why does some negative feedback and criticism automatically translate to som sort of "hating" in people's heads?

The world is not black and white. A show can be good and terrible at the same time.

Indeed it is - seeing as you're incapable of reading and learning in order to spell and write properly.

I might be watching it for other reasons, or maybe I am hoping it will get better. Is that forbidden? Are you the arbiter of who gets to watch what and for how long? I can watch an entire series, and still dislike it when I finish.

It seems to me you just don't like the fact that someone else is poking holes at this show because you think it's amazing. That's not how life works.

It's actually the other way around. Negative feedback is constantly dismissed by fandoms with comments such as "if you don't like it don't watch it" or "you just don't like PP". Just read any comments section on any BL.

Erm... I think you need to read your comment first before clicking "post", to make sure it actually makes sense and is grammatically correct... you know... before criticising mine...

I don't hate anything - well, except for 2gether maybe as that was dog cr*p... But how would you know you don't like a series if you don't watch it? I don't quite get this viewpoint people have when they say "why do you watch it if you hate it". Don't take this the wrong way, but it is a bit of an immature viewpoint.

And that is part of the point I was trying to make. The TV series relies on people having read the novel to appreciate it, and it does not stand on its own two feet. Seems to me that this may be the difference between those who like it and those who don't.

Well, I think you have missed my point slightly. The problem isn't Thee being cheesy, the problem for me is that Thee's character development is poor. But we can agree to disagree.

Fair enough. But is this supposed to be a "lakorn"?

And that sounds like a good premise for a plot and TV series. The question is this: Does this TV series embody and portray that story properly to someone who hasn't read the novel? Before you answer, try and see it from the pov of someone who is completely unfamiliar with this story and watches it for the very first time. A show must be able to stand on its own two feet, it cannot rely on the viewer having read the book/novel first. I see many BLs that fail in this respect.

i watched five episodes and kept asking myself, "what made this series get an 8.9 rating?" and i still…
I haven't read the novel, but I suspect the idea is/was that Thee starts of as a bit of a rich, clueless, sheltered person who meets Peach and changes and learns over time. So far so good, but the execution is really poor. I find Thee to be grating and annoying, with few, if any, likeable aspects to his character - even after reaching episode 8 (when I dropped it). For someone who is supposed to be the central character in all this, and whom the storyline revolves around, the character has little complexity and hardly any emotional depth compared to the others.

There is no proper character development of Thee or Peach. It's all just emotionless slapstick nonsense with some sound effects thrown in, meanwhile they're relying on PP's popularity to get away with it. Also, this formulae with PP has been done to death. Rich boy meets poor boy... Only the actors switch parts. Give it a rest already.

Personally, I would not rate this higher than a 5.
