To those who haven't watched it or not satisfied with the main character

Among the legal dramas I have watched (Ms. Hammurabi, Suspicious Partners, and Your Honors), this is my personal favorite. The plot is really unique, and the character development of the main character Kang Ho is really awesome. As the series progresses, Kang Ho becomes more and more mature. Some may find this character childish, but I think Kang Ho was designed to be this way to highlight how one's upbringing affects his personality. This character is mistreated by his mother and spent years in prison since young age due to his brother's lie, so it makes sense that he doesn't know how to behave/ socialize around people and acts up sometimes as a defense mechanism. Also, by building a character this way, it is easy to distinguish him from the real judge (his brother), who seems to be insensitive and emotionless most of the time. While Soo Ho is not necessarily bad, he doesn't have consideration for other ppl' feelings. His judgements seem to be based on the laws only (SPOILER ALERT: even if he knows the dirty truth behind the cases concerning the conglomerate), while Kang Ho is more attentive to the citizens' feelings more. It is evident in the way how he listened and helped the mistreated Osung Group worker, the blind girl, the man who lost his wife and child in the DUI case, and the man who works in the emergency department. I think that Kang Ho is supposed to represent the humane side of a person. Kang Ho and Soo Ho are like two ends of the spectrum with one being very logical (or rather emotionless) and the other being very emotional. The great thing about Kang Ho's bold character is that it made possible for the judge to go all out and against such powerful rich ppl without hesitance. With all that being said, the character Kang Ho is extremely hard to play. Actor Yoon Shi Yoon really carried the role well.
This drama is also better than other dramas of the same genre as it discusses many contemporary social problems in Korea at that time. If you look up the views and comments below the videos of this drama uploaded on sbs channels, you would be amazed of how many ppl in Korea love this character. Some international viewers complain about it being unrealistic for a judge to act that way. Well... ofc it is. What do ppl expect? This is not a documentary. Had this been based on reality, Kang Ho would be imprisoned for impersonating a real judge or secretly killed to cover the conglomerate 's case. The point of the story is to show what would happen if a person with a heart and common sense would do in such trials. Most ppl (in Korea at least) would want to act the same way as Kang Ho did, but being in a judge position is impossible. It also takes a lot of guts to jail such big fish in the society.
The OST for this drama is perfect. I recommend y'all hear the audio version of it. It is even better. Comfort, shine, and rain are my three fav songs. I re-watched this drama many times. I loved the scenes with his mom though they are heartbreaking. Those scenes for me were powerful because we could feel and understand why Kang Ho the way he is through the great acting. His scenes against the conglomerate are so badass.

It could be just me but I personally found the story sweet and inspiring. The story of a golf star found his way to redeem himself through teaching kids on a small island is heartwarming. I don't think that a good movie needs to have a complicated plot or dashing effects. This movie is simple and meaningful. There are some comedies here and there. The acting is really good. I don't think it is easy playing a mute person because it would require more facial expressions. Yoon Shi Yoon definitely nailed it. Jin Goo also did well. Not sure if this is his debut work or not but I was impressed with his acting as well. Whether you are a fan or not, you should give this movie a shot. If you are a YSY or JG fan, you should definitely watch this. They look extra good here. The music matches the theme of the movie well. Unrelated but the father character is the bakery owner/chef in YSY's former drama King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo.
I am attaching the links for this movie in this review since many ppl in the comments seem to have a hard time finding this movie with eng sub. There are 2 parts betw

SHOULD GIVE IT A TRY CUZ YOU MAY LIKE IT. DON'T LET THE NEGATIVITY GETS TO YOU

Story: I have been watching lots of k dramas for 10 years now XD This story is quite unique, and the ending is quite unexpected (at least for me). Everything may seem weird and absurd in the beginnings, but it all makes sense toward the end when the friend group gets together. I think that many people felt underwhelmed with the ending cuz neither Won Tak nor Min Joo slept with anyone in their group. However, it makes sense because it suits the personality of their characters. Min Joo's disorder is a REAL disorder. It also goes by another name called sexsomnia. It is also better for them to not have anything with each other because they are FRIENDS. I would hate it if Won Tak had had an affair with his friend's wife or fiance. The drama explained why the two girls like Won Tak at the beginning and why the two guys yearn for Min Joo near the end. It is also understandable why WT looks for MJ at the end. All of this happened due to misunderstandings, so everyone was partly at fault. I don't know why some ppl say the ending predictable. I totally did not see that coming
Acting: The acting is very good. All of the cast is amazing. It is possible that ppl don't like the story cuz it is very different fr typical k dramas, but the excellent acting is sth that one cannot deny. If anyone thinks the acting in this drama is bad, then he/she is either an extremely experienced actor/actress or a hater. TMI, I am a musical theater major (junior yr), btw.
Music: I think the music used suits the mood of the drama

This drama is incredible!!! Watch it. You won't regret it.

I don't know where to start T_T The plot is really good. It is impossible to find any plot holes in this drama. The parallel theme is utilized in this drama really well. I have watched other dramas with parallel/time travel theme like King Eternal Monarch, 365: repeat the year, Alice, and Kairos this year. Personally, I think this drama is the best in terms of plot and acting. There are a few good plot twists at the end. It reminds me of the dramas Signal and Tunnel although they used time traveling theme instead of parallel. The acting of the male lead is extraordinary. Other actors are also good, but I am extremely impressed with Yoon Shi Yoon's acting in this drama. Playing double seems to be his thing. Do Won A and Do Won B 's acting gave me goosebumps. The OST is perfect for the drama. With you (Dowon and Sekyung's theme) is my fav song. You should definitely give it a shot. Definitely drama of the year!!!
