Another survival game that has to do with money. Animal World is a Chinese movie. While the first half of AW is very weird the second half is amazing! In Animal World they play rock, paper, scissors and you have to be strategic about it cause once you run out of the cards that have rock, paper, or scissors on them you're out. (This is like my dumbed-down version of what happens. I can't exactly remember. It's been awhile since I watched it.)

Both revolve around a game in which contestants play for a cash prize. Squid Game seems like it'll be more action. Whereas Liar Game I don't really remember there being much violence. Liar Game was televised in the drama whereas I'm not sure Squid Game will be. Squid Game is a death game. Liar Game is more about swindling one another and lying to each other to get money. Liar Game had psychological things in it whilst I'm not sure Squid Game will since it hasn't aired yet.

Both are crime dramas that have sci-fi/fantasy elements in them. In Memorist Dongbaek has the ability to see people's memories by touching them. In Voice Kwonjoo can hear voices with her excellent hearing ability.

Both are crime dramas with a fantasy/sci-fi element to them. Dongbaek can see people's memories when he touches them in Memorist and in Signal the two main leads communicate from past to present through an old walkie talkie.

If you liked CON you'd like Memorist, they give off a similar vibe. Only difference is that Memorist has more of a fantasy element because of Dongbaek's ability.

They are both similar in that there is a serial killer. The serial killer knows about the Main Lead's pasts. Both dramas there are paintings that show up, in Hello Monster's case the paintings are being painted by a murderer and they look creepy. So far in Memorist the paintings have been paintings of murders that have occurred in the past.

There is somewhat of a spoiler in this review for both dramas.
The only similarity is the twin aspect. I find the twins in both Arthdal Chronicles and Duel to be similar.

In Duel Sunghoon and Sungjoon are mere clones however, the two are very different. Saya in AC reminds me of Sunghoon so much. The two are both very stylish and the more well-kept compared to their twin-counterparts. Both of them are very eerie and are super smart. Both Sunghoon and Saya are evil but as a fan you'll find it very very hard to hate the both of them. Both twins are lonely and were mistreated as children.

Now we get to Sungjoon, he reminds me of AC's Eunseom (aka Saya's twin) because they both have a sense of doing what's best instead of their twin-counterparts. These two aren't entirely similar as Eunseom at the beginning and sometimes near the end is very naive this is due to how he grew up. Sungjoon too is naive but this is due to his memory not being fully there. Other than this you still find yourself routing for this twin as well.

They are very much alike.
Similarities (without spoilers):
-Both male and female leads of both dramas all have a birth secret.
-Strong females
-Both male leads are forced to hide for a living. Rim is locked away in the palace and Nokdu is forced to lay low on islands.
-Female leads are smart
-Both female leads aren't afraid to bad mouth the King

Differences (without spoilers):
-Lee Rim is smart but he's very dependent on others due to being confined most of his life.
-Nokdu is smart and strong, he is independent
-Dongjoo is strong and so is Haeryung however, I would venture to say Dongjoo is stronger

SPOILERS BELOW:
Similarities:
-Lee Rim and Nokdu are both rightful Crown Princes
-Both Rim and Nokdu don't want the throne, they'd rather have a simple life.
-The Queen's (Queen Dowager in Rim's case) are very loving of their son/grandson

Differences:
-The King (the real one, Rim's father) in Rookie Historian is dead
-The King in Tale of Nokdu is alive and tried to kill Nokdu when he was born

Both similar in how there is romance between one non-human and human. Although in IANAR the FL is pretending to be a robot.

-Both involve games that involve winning money
-Both are based on Japanese Manga's
-Both involve stuff that deals more on the psychological side
-Both very suspenseful
-Both involve genius male lead characters

Differences:
-Liar Game is less violent
-Liar Game has many different games whereas Animal World only has Rock, Paper, Scissors
-Liar Game is a televised show in the drama whereas Animal World is not televised
-In Animal World there is less team work being done
-Animal World is a movie whereas Liar Game is a drama
-Animal World is Chinese, Liar Game is either Japanese or Korean (depending which version you watch)
-In Animal World when the main character gets angry he sees himself as a A Badass Villain fighting Clown, in Liar Game nothing like this happens
-When the Clown comes out in Animal World there is a lot of CGI, you won't find that in Liar Game

They are both very much alike, I recommend both!

Both deal with the abuse of children at a young age. Feature some seemingly emotionless characters (Soohyun & Eunho.) There is a serial killer in both. Both killers will make you question if what they are doing is really a bad thing.
