Tum and Tiffy have to be the best straight couple in a BL series EVER. I just love everything about them. And…
I agree, the awkward silence thing was...I- I have no words.
The acting was off as well, that could have been fixed tbh.
Sib should have anticipated that Gene would find out since their parents are next door neighbours.
Hopefully the reason why he lied to Gene is a good one, I'm telling you right now that I'm throwing hands if it's a stupid reason.

Okay hear me out, this is for those who are panicking that Gene and Sib are related.

You know how in most POC cultures it's rude to call an elderly person by their name. Like, I'm a black South African and in South Africa it's okay(actually it's the norm) for me to call my best friends mom mom/momma instead of calling her by her name(I would get beaten so bad tehe). So, seeing how asian cultures do this as well, Auntie might not be literal blood related aunty.

She(Sib's Mom)might be friends with Gene's mom and therefore Gene and Sib grew up together. Like in (I can't believe I'm using this bl as reference) Tonhon Chonlatee, they grew up together because their parents were friends.

So that's my take on this whole thing.

I do wish Gene had given Sib a chance to explain, like...those seconds they wasted looking at each other and Sib trying to touch Gene's face was the perfect time to tell him. Then from there the episode could have ended on a cliffhanger, Idk...I would have loved that better than the ending we got.

I'm also interested in finding out how Gene doesn't remember him.
1. It might be because of the surname change from Sib's side.
2. I would say childhood amnesia but he was over 4 in his flash back, but some people's memories tend to start later as well.Though it's rare and normally happens due to trauma.
3. Or it could be that Sib didn't really stand out much for Gene when they were kids therefore making it easier to forget him(cruel but it's a possibilty).
4. Gene had a traumatic experience as a child and his brain is trying to protect him. Idk, would this bl take a dark twist like this though?
5. I have no 5.

Ep 5's acting was better than this weeks acting in my opinion, especially the confrontation scene.

Let's see what happens next episode.

Just because you like apple that doesn't mean others can't like orange. Each person have different taste, you…
You clearly did not understand what I was saying. I attacked the toxic traits in BLs and was shining a light on peoples double standards.
The Avengers and Disney have nothing to do with this, and FYI I also am a massive fan of MDZS.

All I said was we should not normalize/romanticize toxic tropes. I get people have their own tastes but there's a thin line we should be careful of not crossing. Such as defending rapists in a drama or expecting all bls to contain sex and steamy kisses.

Fantasy and Fiction is not an excuse to think rape is okay or over sexualization of the gay community is okay as well.

Please, a lot of drunk people still recognize other people and themselves. This was rape, to its literal point
Okay, man. You sound ridiculous rn, you're basically saying it's the persons fault for drinking then getting raped.
Even a lawyer would tell you this is rape but whatever, you're just part of the problem. I saw your other comments on other peoples posts, your defense mechanisms are raging.
If you don't think what happened to XS was rape then you need to reevaluate yourself as a person. All evidence shows that he did this on purpose, he planned it, he got him drunk so that he could sleep with him because he knew XS wouldn't have allowed it if he was sober. I get people have their dark fetishes but this is plain wrong and disgusting.

You're literally saying, if they drank and got raped they probably wanted it because alcohol lowers your inhibitions.

I'm not even fighting with you, I'm more disappointed in how you think because you seem like a grown adult capable of knowing what consent is,the effects of alcohol, premeditated rape is, and rape.

Feel free to respond to this, but I won't reply back. You've made up your mind that this wasn't rape, you've shown your true colours on the topic of rape, you're sounding like a rape supporter rn and you don't realize it. You're victim blaming and don't even realize it. You sound like a grown adult, I'm not in the mood to continue this talk with you. Think what you think and believe what you believe.

Have a lovely day.

Some of the comments are really worrying. It's the normalizing of romanticizing rape, gay couples being overly sexualized, not taking trauma and mental illnesses seriously or using it as an excuse instead of treating it for me.

If this was a hetero drama it would have been more normal to say it was rape, or that the female has a mental illness and she should be treated or vice versa.

I'm not understanding why a lot of people seem to think BLs should normalize these things. Gay people have rights as well and deserve proper representation in dramas. It's clear some of yall are not in it for the love but rather for the toxic tropes.

You loved tharntype but hated 2gether, why? Because tharntype has more toxic traits and 2gether gave you high 5's instead of rape, sex, violence, steamy kisses etc?

You loved The Untamed but hated 2gether, why? The Untamed was 'straighter' than 2gether. Is it because of the Chinese censorship that you're more understanding? What about couples in real life who are like Sarawat and Tine? What about the fact that not all relationships are based on PDA/intimacy?
What about the fact that you can watch a Kdrama where the ML and FL hold hands for the first time in ep 10 and kiss for the first time in episode 13? What about the fact that you don't expect sex or 'drunk sex' or rape when watching a Kdrama. So you're only watching BLs not for the story but for the sex? So it's rape when it's a straight drama and not rape when it's a gay couple?

The fujoshi in History 4, the same fujoshi yall find too much and repulsive is literally how some of yall are as well.

I'm seeing some people are dropping shows like Lovely Writer as well...why? Is it because it is fighting against the toxic bl tropes? They aren't kissing enough for you? They aren't being rough with one another?

The book editor lady in Lovely Writer, the one who wants Gene to keep adding NC scenes in the book, the one yall seem to hate so much is literally how some of yall be like.

If you're gonna hate a drama hate it for the story line or the acting or editing etc. Some of yall are 'BL fans' because you think of gay bls as porn or lack of human rights. I bet you gay men are tired of always being sexualized.

I also want to point out that people who have been raped also feel pleasure. This is one of the many reasons why they feel so guilty because it felt good while someone was taking advantage of them. It is normal to feel pleasure since that's what sex does but it doesn't always mean a good thing.

So yes, even if the drunk one felt pleasure it was just their body reacting to it (against their will). It doesn't lessen the fact that someone had non consensual sex with them, rape is rape. I don't get what the problem is, just have sober consensual sex and save yourself the lawsuit and trying to victim blame. It's not that hard.

Lmao, no need to be rude dude.

I know it isn't black and white. One of the reasons why this law exists is to avoid getting into such sticky situations. You saw Xing Si's reaction when he woke up, that man looked horrified and his reaction towards his little brother was enough evidence to prove that he did not want it. Even if he said yes, the fact still remains that he would not have made the same choice sober. Laws exist for a reason, they aren't black and white I agree but in this case this was clear rape! The little brother got him drunk on purpose, the fact that Xing Si admitted that he loved him too should have been enough for him. Instead he took it further.
When YongJie said that he would kiss Xing Si when he was sober is proof that deep down he knew that this wasn't right.

In this case this was rape, a guy got the other drunk and then proceeded to sleep with him. There's something wrong with you if you don't think that was rape. This is a very common rape pattern. Just because you're in love with a person doesn't mean that's how you try to get closer to them.

*SPOILER*
next episode it looks like Muren is going to go through the same thing, I bet that's rape to you because he doesn't like the man. That man will do the same thing to Muren, like Yong Jie did to Xing Si. I wonder what you'll think of that.
I also saw that YongJie will try jumping off a building in the next episode. A great way to make Xing Si feel guilty about not returning the same feelings as YongJie even though he is the victim. YongJie is emotionally blackmailing Xing Si, but that's a conversation you're not ready to have.

Gene nibbling on the pretzel stick was the cutest thing...my heart man.
Aoey, I did not understand a single thing about his story, the only thing that made sense was his sister. I was on Aoey's side with regards to that but I fear he is going to wreck havoc in Gene and Nubsib's lives. The saying goes: Hurt people hurt people.

Looks like we finally get a peek into Nubsib's life next episode. Gene's reaction is what scared me, is Nubsib the son of the company Gene works at. Who is his father and will it clear this sus feelings I've had of Sib? Because tbh to me it looks like Sib knew of and liked Gene waaaaaaaaaay before they met.

Let's wait and see.

I was actually starting to warm up to the little brother, I was like: he finally apologized and he doesn't seem that bad anymore. Until he purposefully got his brother drunk and basically raped him.
We all knew the older brother liked him back and was being held back by the fact that they are brothers(albeit step brothers). He even 'drunk confessed' that he liked him back as well BUT(!!) that is not an invitation to sleep with someone! Even if they say yes, if that person is drunk it is NOT consensual!

I bet you that they are going to down play this whole thing and make Xing Si seem like the bad guy. For now they are making it seem as though they are on his side but they are going to turn those tables around. "He liked you as a kid" "you seem to like him back so what's the problem" "he didn't know how else to tell you that he liked you" "you aren't blood related brothers" bluh bluh bluh freaken bluh!!

In all honesty their relationship should end right here, but we all know that Xing Si is going to forgive him and they are going to end up together. Absolute bullcrap! I kept hoping that Yong Jie would stop at the love confession. I even felt relieved when he said he would kiss him when he was sober, they got me good I won't lie.

The fact that Yong Jie kept asking Xing Si if he recognized him and vice versa did not soften the blow as well. A lot of drunk people still remember who they are and who their family and friends are. Some even behave in a sober manner but we know they aren't. Really disappointing.

Muren and Li Cheng are still my favourite, they aren't perfect but I like them the best so far.

I'm pretty disgusted with cancel culture. Ji Soo is a great actor and has been acting for many years, and suddenly…
Bullying and sexual harrasment are not the same thing. If someone did that to me idc 13 years or 50 years ago I would still want them punished.
Trauma isn't the same for people, it may take years for people to actually open up about what happened to them. Especially considering the fact that the last time they ever saw Ji Soo he was still a bully and sexual predator. So they might have been scared to come out with their story, they took into consideration what he would say, what his fans would say and what the rest would say.
It takes a lot to come out, no one complained with the #me2 movement or with the R Kelly story. Most of the victims carried this with them for decades and you understood were they were coming from and yet you can't understand these victims?
Victim blaming is a huge problem in todays world, it doesn't matter that Ji Soo is now a better person from what he was 13 years ago but fact remains that he did those things in the past and he should own up.

They do seriously go into the circumstances of the weird marriage - although it is just getting resolved now in…
Yes, like I said. Though I do not like step sibling relationships I'm a bit more understanding since they recently became step brothers.
Even it it were step brother and step sister relationship I would still feel uncomfortable, I'm not saying it for same sex couples only.
I know they aren't blood related but it still doesn't feel right to me, I'm not saying I dissaprove of it. It's just not my favourite. I felt the same with Love by Chance and History 4, even with wattpad books I ended up dropping them . Me not being comfortable with something doesn't always mean I dissaprove of it. I'm trying very hard to be more accepting of this trope and it's damn hard but hopefully one day I'll get there. I think the fact that step sibling relationship always bring out conflicts with the parents involved, friends and the rest of society has conditioned me to be scared of such story lines. They usually don't have a happy ending.

I can't be as understanding for the teacher. It's not professional at all and should not be encouraged. It's like saying just because I am a student psychologist it's okay for me to date my client, it's not because it opens doors to a lot of ethical issues. I understand that at the end of the day he hasn't really acted upon his feelings, and I hope that he doesn't. He chose this profession there's no excuse to go out with a student. In South Africa if a psychologist falls in love with a client they are required to separate with the client for two years and if they still feel the same way for each other then they can date. It's not ecouraged though, this has been hard wired into me and that's why I am not as forgiving.
