It started off cute. I liked that they didn't have a childhood connection as well. I don't know why South Korea likes to fast track their BLs. They go from being complete strangers to Lovers and we never see the build up. Everytime I watch their bls(not all but majority), I find myself asking out loud "but when did you start falling in love?". The assumption that we should know when they started falling in love without so much as a hint in their acting is getting old and boring and irritating and just aaghh. The sad thing is, even with short minute episodes they can give us quality plots and acting.
The acting had it's moments, for the life of me I could not take Jihoon seriously during the plane ride panic attack. I am tempted to make a tiktok but sadly my morals and values have convinced me that it's bullying.
The English was cringe, I'm sorry. The longer they kepy talking the more I wished they would go back to speaking hangul.
Also, Eden mentioned that he was traumatized by his drowning incident as a child and would therefore freakout at the sight of large bodies of water. Tell me why his trauma was down played and basically non existent. For someone with water PTSD he sure looked like he was one with the water. Bro was a water Avatar.
Toxic ex boyfriend trope needs to burn die and never resurrect.
Also, maybe there was a mistake with the translations and I am well aware that the way I think and understand things are not the same for all countries. But Eden gave "Im not gay vibes and homophobic vibes", he literally said how can his first love be a man when he literally silent confessed that he was in love with Jihoon. And then proceeds to say he misunderstood him...Mr Sir, what the hell is wrong with you.
A rushed ending is basically standard procedure for SK. I should be used to it but everytime I am surprised and disappointed.
1. Bong normally has a good sense of character. She got along well with everyone, even with her grandfather but she always had something negative to say about the Shaman. Even when he was the most likeable character.
2. The first murder recognized the killer, so it could only be narrowed down to people she interacted with.
3. When he suddenly appeared with his son, warning bells started ringing: it can't be that easy to run away with your son while the mother is still in the picture. I called that he probably killed her.
4. He was closest to the scene where the lady was stabbed in the heart. So was he at the hospital when ML was hospitalized.
5. The blood Seon-Woo's hand was a dead give away. Most of the time the murderer is close to the suspected murderer.
6. His one perfect prediction: someone else will die. All this time he had been wrong but suddenly he got this one right.
7. He was there during the shower. So therefore he had to have powers. Also, Bong ran to him first. He knew who had powers and he had a lot of blacks and blanks in his memory
8. Normally if you cannot empathize with a character, they are most likey the killer. The Shaman cried so many times and in all of this, not once did I emphasize with him. I was like maybe he isn't a great actor but all his other scenes were good, so maybe he wasn't good at acting like a crier. But then no matter how much I tried to believe this, I couldn't ignore my gutt feeling.
9. The way he cried at the grandfathers funeral. Definitely how someone who is guilty would act.
10. He tried to act innocent about it but he always threw Seon-Woo under the bus.
I have more but imma stop at these ones. This was a great show, I wish we got a bit more romance, I wish Seon-Woo didn't die and I wish they delved even more to the murders after the Shaman was caught. It felt a bit rushed(maybe I'm too much of a murder mystery fan). But yeah, all in all a solid 8.5
If Jang Yeol's theory is true (that the victims have all betrayed someone), my money is on female cop since she…
The right hand man, is definitely also a suspect. My only problem with him is that we don't know him well enough. He has like 5 minutes screen time in the whole drama.
Most of the time, police catch the right person and then let them go. That's why I'm saying it's him, alsooooo, unless I missed it. Did the police report what the serial killer dressed like and what his weapon was? He too could be able to read minds since he was also there that night of the shower. And the FL has never really liked him since the beginning...I also like him and I am hoping I am wrong and that it's someone else
I normally don't mind the FLs choices but her refusing to touch her grandfather when ML brought it up initially made me the angriest I have ever been in a while. Her grandpa is old and obviously not that strong to murder 2 young women and a young man...yet alone the assembly man...even though he was drunk. She is so stupid in her decision making that she too should be charged as an accomplice because of stalling...she annoyed it. When the ML said "you are going to lose faith over this ONE thing" I felt that, the second he asked her to go touch him...she should have stood up and went to go do it, even if she feared the outcome.
My suspect list:
Also, I am still saying it is the Shaman. He got caught initially and had to play dumb and scared. For a second I suspected FLs best friends father, but then I was like...he too is old
I also suspected the female cop, but the murderer seems to be a guy so I'm gonna move on. What if she's the killer because the girls are probably linked to her husbands cheating. But then the MLs "little brother" is the odd one out.
Sun Woo... I have no idea how to feel about him, I'm like the FL. I'm gonna trust that he is a good man 51%. It just seems to obvious to be him, yes he disappears at crucial times but that 51% is thriving.
I will say this again, the first victim knew the murderer. She definitely recognized them and I'm assuming that they interacted with one another. I'm going to the earlier episodes to see who she interacted with and hopefully it all will make sense.
This is my suspect list. I hope from this list that I am right. I'm still gonna bet on the Shaman though...fingers crossed
I'm betting the serial killer to be the shaman(please don't be...I love him so much) and the councilman. I don't think Sun Woo is the killer but he definitely has some type of power and to some extent I'm gonna say the shaman as well, we cannot ignore the fact that he was there the night of the meteor shower. I'm praying so hard it's not the shaman but they could be ignoring the fact that 4 people are psychic.
He killed the metuber because she wasn't what he expected and because she thought she was better than anyone, and she definitely knew who her killer was based off of her reaction before getting attacked. I can't remember the 2nd killing but the third is because the waitress prevented him from ripping off more of the towns people. Had she not went to ML and FL and the shop owner, the other waitress would not have been found. He was also the closest to the place that she died. For all we know The General is made up and he predicted a correct murder(for some reason I am struggling to remember the 2nd murder)because he knew he would strike again and used it as a method to gain popularity. He said the killer is present as a way to remove the attention from him. He could be a desperate father...and probably killed his wife too... this is me going overboard. I really like the shaman though...it would hurt if it were him indeed.
The councilman is definitely a bad person. But because of Sun Woo and the grandpa always following him around, I do not think he is the serial killer but he definitely is a murderer.
I was also gonna suggest Ok Hee's father but I don't think it is him. He is kinda sus tho.
The first victim recognized her killer...so it's someone she interacted with.
Boys over flowers but gay...tehehe...the raikantopainie goddess heard my cries.
The 7.7 rating is crazy...this episode was amazing! The way I wanted to punch that teacher...I would have whooped his ass back to his mothers womb so that she can raise him right this time around. Wooooo!! Let me go run a lap because I am seething!!
It's nice seeing Perth again...I like him and seeing him act as lead just brought back memories of why I love him so much. Chimon is doing an amazing job, I love the way he plays his character...I think I might have a new favourite Thai actor.
Honestly can't wait for the next episode. The sadness due to the wait starts here...
Surprised at the rating tbh...I'm enjoying this. Also we get to see the ML be so animated than his previous dramas which is a highlight for me. Comedy is great, Suho's in it, the FL is cute and likable...
you're not the only one. i don't want them to ruin the younger brother/older sister dynamic i read the webtoon,…
This is awesome. I have faith that even though they have changed some things, they won't kill any of the counters. Thank you so much for replying. I agree with everything you said about So Moon and the Counters.
Am I the only one who is happy that So Moon and Hana might not become a couple? I for one love the noona×dongsaeng dynamic, it's kinda refreshing that the writer (hopefully) is not going the cliche route of putting two mains together.
Also, I have so much anxiety everytime a new episode comes out. All I want is for none of the counters to die, I got a weird feeling in my stomach when they took a family picture in the 2nd ep. I hope we don't have an ep 12 whereby that picture is bittersweet and we have to come to terms with the deaths of a few counters. I will literally die and join them in the afterlife. Yall can't make me bond with the characters and make me love them then proceed to rip my heart to shreds. I will never ever ever forgive the writer...ever!!
Ahem...excuse my dramatic outburst...but yeah, I am so excited yet so scared of what is to come.
Absolutely enjoying this season. I am so nervous as I watch though. Not a fan of the evil spirits getting counters powers but at the same time, I am a sucker for how intense it has gotten. The Counters need to get stronger, I know we will lose people but please please please can it not be any of the counters. I will simply die, I don't think I'll be able to accept their deaths.
Can someone explain something to me? If Dr. Kim was adopted by two white people and raised in America, why does…
Remember, when a couple adopts a child from a different ethnicity. They are to some degree expected to respect that child's ethnicity and raise him with respect to his culture while blending him in with theirs(parents)
Dude...where did he prove he doesn't care about her family life or her kids? You're projecting and it's really…
All this sounds like you're displacing your anger based on your own experiences with men. I won't try to defend Dr Roy in this because he is a fictional character. So I'll let it rest for now.
What you're saying in terms of SK culture, I understand but I also disagree with you. You aren't taking into consideration changing times. We've had a number of celebrities divorce and though it was tough and women got bashed, they came out on top in the end. Dr Cha is fictional but I have no doubts, she'll come out just fine if she goes through with the divorce. It won't be easy, and people will talk either way.
You're basically saying that Cha should sacrifice her entire self to a marriage that is killing her. Even if her children are her everything, she can still have her own character development without it harming her children. She can redefine what her family means to her in a nonharmful manner.
Divorce is embarrassing but it's way better than trying to paint a picture of a perfect family for a society that cares nothing at all about them. Once the kids leave the house and live the way they want. Should Dr Cha still stay in that marriage? Redefining what family means( which may I point out, she has started doing) to her is possible.
Every friend should know when to not mind others business but this is not relevant to what Dr Roy said. She needed to hear that, bet it won't be the last time she hears it too. I don't agree with your image of Roy. He has minded his business and even when he got angry with Dr Cha he didn't make a big deal about it. Yes, he wishes she could just take action but he also understands that this is her process. Which is what a good friend would do, and if he likes her he hasn't crossed any boundary.
Dude...where did he prove he doesn't care about her family life or her kids? You're projecting and it's really…
So, to keep society from talking you're suggesting staying in a relationship that is toxic? You only seem to focus on the family and not the individual which can be poison to everyone involved. Dr Cha staying in that marriage with In Ho has already proven my fact, no one is happy. Why should a person stay in a relationship with someone if it brings them no happiness? Divorce is a tabboo for a lot of cultures and religions but it will never stand close to ones own happiness, their children are adults and can take care of themselves. She doesn't need to mother them like they are infants anymore.
IDK what your definition of friend is, but a friend will tell you what they feel. A friend who agrees with everything you say even when it might hurt you more is not a real friend. All Roy did was express how he felt about the situation, he wasn't lying with what he said. Dr Cha needs to start thinking for herself, next episode shows us how much this will hurt her. A real friend will call you out on your bullshit, they won't force you to make a decision but a real friend can tell you that they don't agree with your decisions and leave it at that. Which is what Roy did.
He didn't say those things to her because In Ho keeps one upping him.
Dr Cha doesn't even see Roy as a romantic partner, so why are you focusing on something based on an assumption. Just because most of the men you met are like that doesn't speak for all men. If Roy really wanted Cha in his bed ASAP he would have told her everything from the start.
If you were really joking about calling In Ho the best father, then I apologize for calling you names.
If FL decides to go back to her husband, i am gonna so disappointed. A jerk like him doesn't deserve anyone
I agree. It'll be a slap in the face to all those women who have been mistreated by their husbands. Even if In Ho changes for the better, may his character development come at the price of his marriage
The acting had it's moments, for the life of me I could not take Jihoon seriously during the plane ride panic attack. I am tempted to make a tiktok but sadly my morals and values have convinced me that it's bullying.
