One of the best rated dramas on MDL... and I had to drop it. Was a huge bore festival, neither the acting nor…
I have the same opinion about this drama as you. :) :)

Well, I saw this drama a few weeks ago. I only remember screaming and moaning, and nothing else. Personally, it was unbearable. I haven't been this bored in ages. Only the oyster fishermen's subplot intrigued me, but what happened next made my head drop, and I only woke up because of the screams.

I had a lot of ho-hmm moments in this show throughout the 12 episodes, where I was thinking “now where have…
And I agree with you, Ji Chang Wook's acting is excellent. He's an actor who creates a character, giving them expression and complexity. Well, I found Gangnam B-side boring, a stereotype of an indestructible pimp flaunting senseless violence and lacking in dimension. I gave it a 5. However, The Worst of Evil turned out to be a very good series for me. The violence is justified, and the intrigue between the main characters is a masterpiece and offers psychological depth. It creates anxiety and makes you question the limits of dedication to work and beyond. Returning to The Manipulated, I found it grotesque at times, overly expressive of the reactionary message, and bloody for the sheer sake of its cruelty. I give it a 7 , because of Ji Chang Wook's acting. For the series itself, I would have given it a 5.

A very accurate review. I agree with you, maybe not 100%, but largely.

I tried watching this drama twice, but my intelligence was severely impaired. Drama in the drama, script in the script, action in the action – oh no, it's too much for my tiny mind. At the end, the villain ends the scene, like in a soap opera.

I agree with you, but I found something I like. It's a song, just one song, called "Mayfly Will" by Shi Yan.

Unfortunately, most of the action makes me laugh. And in episode 25, the guy with the horns was so funny. I felt no emotion. The animation scenes are straight out of the 1950s.

I agree with you 100%. I laughed while reading your review because I had the impression the heroine was about to destroy the city with sulfur dioxide, which is released in an exothermic reaction. Then the absurdity intensified, and the romance became saccharine. I feel the same way, my intelligence is suffering.
Well, the first place and the gold medal goes to the cook, i.e. the lady who cooks grains in the amount of a few carts, I guess a few tons. :) :)

I'm on episode 2. I'm forcing myself to watch it because of the high ratings. Some people are calling it a masterpiece. And I'm falling asleep, although sometimes the actors' screams wake me up. Why do they keep screaming?

To non-Netz MDLers: I reported and got removed from this thread, FIVE comments left by Knetz. Report them when…
There are many comments under the KSH actor's photos, the authors of which should be held accountable in court. Calling someone to kill another person is already a punishable threat. It is a crime. The person commenting in this way should be found and reported to the police.

Today's not so fun fact: celebrity suicides influence those who are facing hardships to make the same decision.https://koreajoongangdaily.joins.com/news/2025-04-28/national/socialAffairs/A-national-crisis-Suicide-deaths-rising-among-middleaged-Korean-men-amid-economic-woes/2295076Korea…
It should also be possible give the opportunity to reveal the names and details of people who have published false and hateful messages. Let the person who published them take responsibility for what they publish and spread. Misunderstood freedom of speech turns into a tool for harassing others. It should be possible to file a lawsuit also against an "unknown person". I mean legal and regulatory actions. And I would like to draw attention to factors that can indirectly, but are not decisive, trigger suicidal thoughts. These are unrealistic canons of beauty, or even anorexia, and lack of sunlight, which block the release of endorphins.

It's a big relief that MDL is slowly returning to a drama commenting and discussion site. Having political campaigns…
Nothing to add, nothing to subtract. It's exactly as you wrote. At one moment, I was terrified of what was happening here and I was afraid that whatever I wrote would be met with hatred. No matter what I write, hatred simply feeds on itself. Yes, I want a reasonable opinion here about dramas. About the actor's acting, about an interesting creation, about historical or non-historical facts, about directing, about films. Not about gossip, juicy details or who with whom and why.

Thanks for the info and link. It's like a green island in an ocean of filth, but these hot emotions are still being fueled. Buckets of filth are being poured on each other. Adults, youth live, not their own lives but someone else's. They virtually experience someone else's life instead of taking care of their own. They don't seem to have a plan for life. They need fuel in the form of gossip, accusations, manipulation. Speaking of manipulation, these are well-known, famous photos, for example a boa strangling a deer, but captioned (as in the media) a caring snake hugs the deer because it feels sorry for its mother's death, but what's more interesting is that people believe it This is the hypocrisy of some media, YouTubers and commentators.

It scares me. I feel like this is Joseon society. Dark and manipulative like the old days. Brawlers and mindless crowds. And it's not about who's really to blame, it's about money.

What's going on? People here are choking on hatred, wishing death on his family, competing in the comments to see who hates him more, who insults him more. This actor is being lynched here.

Review Mr. Plankton
Phew, I was waiting for a review like this. To tell the truth, this drama bored and irritated me with the hysterical screams of the main female character, the incomprehensible departures and returns of the main characters, and the ambiguous relationship between Hae Jo and Bong Suk. I don't know what purpose it was supposed to serve. To add such spice tinged with eroticism? And these delights over this masterpiece left me dumbfounded. If it weren't for the handsome, hot main character who so willingly flaunted his magnificent torso, hmm??, I don't know if these delights would have continued? The plot is jagged, without logical progression.

Review Mr. Plankton
Unfortunately, the hysterical screams of the main female character were unbearable for me. I agree with your review, I'll be honest, it was hard for me to finish this drama.
