I'm surprised this c-drama has an overall rating of 8 because that's what got me watching. Oh Gosh, what can you say? So far I'm on episode 24 with a 4, 5 rating. I agree with your review, but with the fast forward button I am a little relieved from the boredom of this bland drama. Actually, is this prime minister bad or not very bad? And grandparents come and go, what for? Yes, there is some laughter, but the combination of tragic characters and comedy is not good for this show. Besides, dragging scenes and showing details (e.g. looking for a knife in the kitchen) is an age-old problem in C-drama.
My advise for getting through ALP: watch eps1-12, 16-20, 42-49.
Thank you. :) Eventually I finished watching, but even Episodes 42-49 skipped faster because this "hiding the truth for the sake of others" just overwhelmed me. Fortunately, the end was happy, because there would be a plot for another 50 episodes again, if he hadn't met her, lost his memories etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.
I'm in the process of watching this C-drama and I honestly want to finish it. I also had a sincere desire not to read reviews while watching but need to see if I am the only one wanting to get bored after episode 20, scenes drag on, things that can be easily resolved are dragged (Wu-Huan and Princess-psychofan ). It turns out that not only me. I wonder what my feelings will be after episode 49 as I start scrolling faster. As for the beauty of the main character, I must say that she is probably a nice person. And that would be all. However, it is generally difficult for me to judge the beauty of Chinese actors because they are generally very disguised.
Ha ha, your fifth point is bingo !!! 100% right ha ha. I'm in the process of watching and starting to lose my patience. After episode 20, I started to wonder if they could handle it somehow and steer it reasonably. I was pissed off by hauling the plot about the psychophanic princess. Total hysteria. I really want to watch to the end, but I'm starting to rewind long scenes that don't add anything to the action.
Nothing more, nothing less. Your review has everything I mean. And so you were gentle in your judgments. I rated it a 4. Flashbacks in this c-drama insult my intelligence. The figure of the first emperor lacked charisma.
I finally got to the end and that end was probably the best solution for this drama. It's beyond my strength. The moral of this drama is this. Be careful because if you consummate your marriage you may fall into a coma.
Ha, ha. I also agree 100%. After all, I got tired of this drama. Nightmare. You can actually watch the first 3 episodes and then the last 3 and that's enough. What a mania that they have to drag that consumption for 25, 30, 50 episodes. This makes the viewer feel like a pervert waiting for this act. And those unfinished kisses and that camera pointed at his hands that held her waist. Daub. Standard in these c-drams. And Word of Honor is really good.
I just finished watching and …… finally… a drama that I can give 9.5 with a clear conscience. The first drama and so far the only one I have watched in full without moving forward 2-3 episodes. As always, I enjoyed reading your review and I can 100% agree with it, so I won't be writing too much. Great acting. Enough episodes. Well-chosen and reasonable amount of flashbacks (this kills a lot of drama). Finally, there is chemistry. Sparks. It is spicy but subtle. I also smiled at your mention of Dangerous Liaisons.
Heh heh. I also have the impression that screenwriters often treat the "consumer scene" in these performances as the climax. Pure calculation and manipulation. The so-called hero chemistry comes down to playing with the camera and stopping the action, i.e. we have a long look in the eyes, holding a hand or a scene where they try to kiss, which goes on and on and then ends because someone called someone. Ha ha. :) :)
Ha, ha, ha well written review. I just finished watching this drama and… well, to put it mildly, I wasn't thrilled with either the work or the actors. I have the impression that I am watching a standard didactic and moral dissertation written on request. And the last episode is banal, banal after banality. Phew, like at some official meeting. Unfortunately, it's a cliché, schematic figures. I like these actors, but here I did not notice any individuality in building their characters. But you can watch it and forget it. And that's it.
They look and have a more mature aura about them and I would honestly hate seeing them try to pass off as 20-somethings.
Hm? Maybe I don't know her enough. Her acting roles? I will not be stubborn. Simply in the role in the drama "General and I" I was very critical of her.
From watching this drama and Mark Chao, I still saw it as Severus Snape. The hair, the costume is the real Severus. As a result, I had a lot of fun and doubts.

Ha ha. It's the same for me. Only the translator translated as "dick".
