Yes, I said, "The actors are the face of this mess." So? I didn't blame them; I only stated a fact. That's the reason they had to apologize because people care more about them than a rookie writer or a director.

I have worked in the entertainment industry for over 20 years. It's not the same in the West, but people do blame the actors if a movie sucks. It doesn't matter where you live; most people don't know the people behind the camera unless they're big names.

Why should I learn a language to understand characters more? I don't have to be fluent in Korean to understand other, way more complex Kdramas or movies. So, it's not my fault; it's the writers'.

As for the romance being "PERFECT." Huiju literally wanted his status; that's the one and only reason they got married. Then in the finale, she says, "I never wanted status anyway." Like that's character suicide. I don't mind her saying, "I don't care about status ANYMORE," but saying she never wanted it is nonsense and inconsistent scriptwriting.

I'd say until EP6 Perfect Crown was decent, and then things just started to happen randomly without any buildup. I don't want to write it down again; it's in my review.

The crew also apologized, but no one cared. That's my point. If I were making the rules, actors should apologize only if they were doing a bad job as actors. They don't have anything to do with the script.

Everyone is protecting the writer because she's a rookie; that's why she's never said anything so far.

Most people can barely name more than 2 actors in a movie or a show. Do you think they will do research and blame the people who actually made this drama? That's too much work.

"Of course, we also received consultation. I think that while trying to portray Joseon, I fell into a trap during filming. That was my ignorance. Rather than focusing so much on what a Joseon-style coronation ceremony should look like, perhaps I should have focused more on portraying an independent Korea."

So, nuff' said I think.

Why? Because it's part of the story of why Joseon is still alive in the 21st century.

The director literally just did an interview stating they messed up big time because they never stated this fact. They said it's a constitutional monarchy, yet they still used the old Joseon style.

Don't mix HATE and FAIR CRITICISM in the same category. People were hating on this drama way before it started. That's a different thing.

I always felt weird as a man to think about this because I never cared about these things. I think it says it all. 1 episode of Hotel del Luna can eat the entire drama alive. The fact that both dramas had the same budget is crazy. IU had like 5 different outfits and styles in pretty much every episode, but this drama felt more like a project founded on GoFundMe.

I'm not Korean either; I didn't even realize this mistake because I was too focused on the poorly written characters and story.

I don't like Knetz most of the time, but this time they're not wrong. The coronation scene is not a fiction; it's history! Korean, not Chinese, as I already told you. If the writer wanted to change it, she should've mentioned why. Some people argued that Korea was ruled by China and that's why this scene was different, but the creators never mentioned this, and it wasn't included in the story.


There are multiple historical Kdramas with fictional Kings, Queens and other characters. But I don't think I've seen any that didn't do the coronation scene properly.

She didn't create a whole new world with new rules; she just put Joseon in the 21st century. Stop making excuses. What's the point of creating movies and TV shows if we can argue that "It's just a Kdrama; it doesn't have to be perfect; it's enough if the leads are cute together"? Nonsense.

Because no one gives a damn about the people behind the camera. 99.999% of people couldn't name a single crew member without using Google. This is why MBC asked IU and BWS to apologize too because they're the face of this mess.

Just because something is a fiction doesn't mean it doesn't have to be accurate. They put the past in the 21st century. That's not fiction; that's a real history. You can change the rules, but the writer never mentioned anything; ergo, a scene like the coronation should be the same as it was in real life. They messed this up; this is why they're apologizing.

Even if they would say, "We set this world in a new era where China rules Korea," they would be wrong because they never mentioned this in the drama. Ergo, the writer messed this up big time.

Also, stop spreading lies. IU didn't cry. I've never seen her cry since 2008 more than 4-5 times, and it was never about some nonsense drama.

Or you know, other people don't watch dramas for the kissing scenes only. Zero character development, no buildup to any side of the story, and random villains were introduced. A serial killer literally let loose by Ian, and people are happy she's now a "good mother" even though she wanted to burn her own son alive. Should I keep going? I didn't even mention PM, Jinmu, the politics, or even the bang-average romantic relationship. And no, I'm not talking about the chemistry, even though it wasn't that good either.

Don't just blame MBC and Disney. For the record, Disney is only a distributor, not a producer. Blame the writer too; she wrote it. What you've seen is the original version.

No offense, but numbers have nothing to do with quality.

If you put IU in a chair doing ASMR the same amount of people would watch it. She's the main reason people watched this drama. BWS alone could never bring this many people in. No shade, just a fact.

It's about "narrative depth"; ergo, they're fixing the most important thing that the drama never had. What you can read in the novel should've been in the drama, because I don't think there's a single character who had a real depth. They were like sketches on paper. Also, I want the writer to tell me everything about these characters in the drama; I don't want to read a novel to know everything. This is writing 101, and she failed miserably.

This is like Marvel's MCU. You have to watch every movie and TV show to understand everything. Nonsense.

If a writer can't give the characters depth in the source material, don't start writing a novel just so she can milk the fans even more.

There's nothing I hate more than this. This is pure laziness, and it clearly shows she doesn't care about these characters, not to mention the fans.
