All this long essay about nothing. Jesus Christ. I've been working in this industry for over 20 years, so I know what I'm talking about. I actually experience firsthand why AI is "evil". You're just another "I don't care, I love AI" guy, nothing more.
As for "Thea East Palace," please show me evidence that they actually used AI, because I didn't see any mention of AI in the credits. You can fix dark scenes or lightning without AI as well.
Even if they did use AI to adjust the lighting, it's still better than generating a whole scene like most of those Kdramas you can see in my list.
"Anyway, it is fine to be pro or anti anything, just don't be a "purist". The "purists" are arses. Trolls. The world is not black-and-white, it is colorful. There is always something in the middle that can't be categorized as good or evil."
There's no middle ground with AI because the data centers did more harm to the planet than all the factories in 100 years. It's not just a tool, it's a tool people use because they're lazy and it's cheap. It looks like crap, and it's not only destroying our planet, but people are also losing their jobs because of it. If you don't work in this industry, just shut up.
So spare me with your agenda and just say how it is. You love AI, that's why you call people "purists".
Unfortunately I think the only way to avoid AI, is to stop watching all New Kdramas alltogether and only watch…
I mean, you can still find dramas without AI, but not many, but eventually in 2-3 years that's going to happen, yeah.
As much as I love actors, I won't watch anything made with AI. Things won't change because most people don't care or simply just don't know, so the Kdrama industry is safe from boycotts until they start making dramas with AI-generated actors like "Agent Kim".
I just saw the credits. I ADORE Park Eunbin, but I'M FED UP WITH AI! I feel like I can't watch anything normally…
I won't ask anyone to boycott things because of AI, mostly because no one would care anyway. Koreans are obsessed with it, and most people can't tell anyway.
But for people who do care, we need a label at least. I opened a thread, let's see what happens.

It would be nice, but it's a lot of work to do research before the drama or movie is released, and if they do it after, it's still manual, so they have to check the credits for everything.
This could be done manually by fans, like we can edit everything basically, but I'm not sure how many people would do it. Most people don't mind AI at all. I usually skip the credits because I don't want to spoil the next episode, that's why I watched some dramas with AI inclusion, but now I'll start with the credits.
I will ask the mods if they could do something about this, but if people on MDL don't add the info, it doesn't really mean much.

Yes, it is automatically a bad thing. Just like most people can't tell something was made with AI doesn't mean it's okay. It's like saying killing someone is okay if you don't know it was someone who you know.
I don't judge the story because they used AI, I judge the whole crew. The body under the ocean was obviously AI, btw, and you can see all the AI "artists" in the credits.
"This is a fantasy drama that has to portray ghosts, supernatural elements, and other visual effects, so using AI as a tool isn't necessarily a bad thing."
Again, it is a bad thing, and many other fantasy dramas didn't use any AI. For example, "The East Palace" didn't use any, even tho it is a much bigger budget drama, so they could've used AI to spend much less money.
Do you know the main reason people should boycott AI regardless of how people use it? Because all the data centers are destroying our planet much faster than any other factory did in the past 100 years or so. Not to mention the people who live close to these data centers.
And let's not forget the other important thing. Because AI is much cheaper, VFX artists, graphic designers, and other artists are either losing their jobs or earning much less money.
I just saw the credits. I ADORE Park Eunbin, but I'M FED UP WITH AI! I feel like I can't watch anything normally…
"Dream to You" has AI credits, so they 100% use AI. As for "Taxi Driver" I don't see any AI credits. Many people said it was AI, but it can be normal VFX as well. Before 2026 companies didn't really put AI "aritsts" in the credits, so it's hard to tell.

From now on I will start with the credits. This made me so angry I made a list with all the Kdramas in 2026 that used AI. There could be more so I will update the list.
The first 2 episodes were fun and interesting, and I like both Yeori and Ganguk, but if you mix comedy with crime, it usually doesn't work. If you can turn off your brain, you'll love it, but honestly, the crime part is not well thought out, sadly. It's not only obvious from the start who the killer is, but the way it happens makes no sense. Like, the killers are not only dumb as hell, the worst part is that the police could just put them in jail after 5 minutes because all the evidence is right there but they are still acting like they have to work a lot to find out who did it and how. You can tell it's a romcom first and a crime drama second. The horror elements are also not convincing because they don't take it seriously enough, but it's okay.

I mean, I wouldn't care about being a "friend" like a supportive co-worker or senior or whatever, but the real problem is that he actually said on national TV that he wants to marry a 20 year old girl in his 40s.
I'm not sure I see much hype here, looks like those of us liking it are in the minority after recent episodes.…
That's true tbh, I'm not sure, but I think I binged it. That's why "My Liberation Notes" is still on my On Hold list. I love the writer but I need to prepare mentally for her work. 😅
I'm not sure I see much hype here, looks like those of us liking it are in the minority after recent episodes.…
I give it a 8/10, but not sure I would rewatch it anytime soon. You can read my review if you want. But if you dropped it, I think it's not something you should watch. At least I don't really finish something I dropped. https://mydramalist.com/profile/David33/review/534006

So, based on what you're saying, this is more like "Surely Tomorrow"? I liked that drama too, but many people hate it because it's kind of similar to this. I mean, the leads are really bad at communicating. I don't really have a problem with that because it's realistic.
Honey, the only one I care about is the girl who k-lled herself because of this piece of shit, but his brain-dead fangirls only feel sorry for this pedo. And yes, you're blocked.
I could accuse you of a thousand different ways of sexual assault and trash your name all over this website. That…
Honey, we never met, simple as that. It's not the same thing that happened between the actual victim and this piece of shit Lee Jin Wook. Stop talking nonsense and start using your brain.

I've seen a LOT of people on SNS hyping it up, but they're talking about that 1 scene. I love both actors, so I might watch it later when it's over, but I'm not sure about romcoms anymore. I love flawed characters because they're realistic, all I care about is the story and acting and directing. So, unless these things are just typical tropes without any meaning or depth, it doesn't mean much.
I don't skip scenes because if I feel the need for that, I'll drop it on the spot. I don't finish everything anymore like I did back in the days. It's just a waste of my time.
I can tolerate cliches if they're done right and the story is entertaining, but I don't watch dramas anymore that are like "Our Universe" or "Dynamite Kiss" for example. Romcoms like "Business Proposal", "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" or "Love Scout" the level I expect, or something like "King The Land". The first 3 are well-made and entertaining, KTL is more like a typical fun but still has some mature vibe with a decent script.
Tbh, I'm more into historical dramas but there aren't many quality one anymore, or real-life dramas like "We Are All Trying Here" or "Tangereines"

But yeah, nothing wrong with it, right?
Please do some research.

I feel like I can't watch anything normally anymore. My first Eunbin drama I had to drop since 2009. Fck everyone who use AI.
