The 1st TWO Episodes are something special. INSTANTLY GOATED in my books for the genre it represents. If I were to describe how it felt it would be "an extraordinary circumstance portrayed in an ordinarily extraordinary way" Nothing major has happened but I feel the build-up is going crazy. It has been peaceful and chill but somehow it has me riled up. I don't think I would have loved these episodes as much if the subsequent actions by the Main Lead were even a bit over the top. Can't wait to see how the team-up between two ordinary workers who don't mesh well brings chaos and life to the story. Both the actors have done such a perfect job that I felt everything I was supposed to feel as an audience. Everything feels realistic, even the reaction and aftershock of winning the lottery by Kong Eun Tae feels close to reality which makes me more invested in the story. BEST QUOTE: A 3 Billion guy shouldn't get pushed around by 1.3 billion. (my interpretation - You are worth a lot more than you realize and worth more than what you're told) Everyone, please do me a favor and watch it!!!!!!!
The last 6-7(Ep 25-31) episodes (I just watched Ep 31) made Zhao Ling into a completely different person. He becomes hasty, doesn't think deeply before acting, doesn't communicate with the FL, completely ignores advices from the FL, betrays friendship blaming his loyalty to the Emperor and worst of all- says, he does what he does to keep FL safe. What a downgrade of a Leading Male character! Shame, such a shame.
So from what I am reading the director decided to leave it to our imagination as to how the main leads end up;…
Except for a few special instances, I have never liked the open endings. Its like eating a satistying meal but you only ate so enthusiatically because you were anticipating the desert at the end. But sadly, the desert never came. Yes, I can go somewhere else for desert or make something myself but the sense of incompleteness is already attached with the meal.
so women know what men want and read minds!? waw you have a great ability it's easy for you to please your husband…
Nah you trippin. Third paragraph made it even more clear that she understands men and how they are pretty straight-forward. I didn't feel that she attacked men, not even a little. You need to read a little more and not get on the offensive instantly. AND this was even one of those rare times when someone doesn't have unfounded negativity towards men and even understand them a little. I think you meant well and we appreciate that.
Only hundreds of films are considered masterpices in the whole world. People need to stop using that term., It's…
I agree with you. 8.5 is little too high and this is not a masterpiece(in absolute sense). But that being said, the current rating might be considered fair or a little low based on the mdl culture and environment. Here on mdl the ratings tends to be a little different because it gets contrasted with other dramas/movies that is mostly asian in nature. As most of the viewers here are not native language speaker (i think), it is unrealistic to hope that they/we rate it like Hollywood movies are rated on sites like imdb or rotten tomatoes. I see it as the ratings here being over-inflated and I then adjust the ratings mentally by comparing it with other movies and dramas in this site. If all the international movies were also included and rated here in this site, then the ratings of this movie would have to be a lot lower.
why the fuck can't they just make it a two couple romance why????why does it have to have a love triangle
They need to forbid the love triangles in Dramas for at least a few years(around 4-5 yrs). So, when they finally bring the disgusting love triangles back it will feel nostalgic or it might even feel refreshing
happy ending, the guy got married and had 5 wives and 11 children
Are you trolling or is this adapted from one of those sigma male harem novel? From the synopsis the ML doesn't seen like a all knowing playboy who rizzes up chicks left and right. And the FL doesn't seem like a meek lady who gives in to the trash ML's every whims and forgives all of his ridiculous behaviours/mistakes.
Maybe you should write your own drama, since you know better than experienced screenwriters.
I think you are being a little hard on her. I find @haloum's comment pretty fair. It doesn't seem like a hate comment and I find it interesting. And, if she is being honest then I am thankful because it helped me take a glimpse at what to anticipate when I am watching the drama. Some want the MC to be emphasised more and don't want them be too forgiving. While some want every charater to have a decent backstory and character development along with redemption arcs. Nothing wrong with wanting any of the two.
Maybe you should write your own drama, since you know better than experienced screenwriters.
The "Yet" in my comment clearly means I will be watching the drama in the near future. And yes I don't have to watch a show to understand if the comment someone makes is silly and without reasonable basis. Most importantly, the things I said had nothing to do with the Drama in question because the argument I made can be used anywhere in any drama! Keep in mind @Rofhiwa didn't have any thing to say about the Drama herself. So, as far as I am concerned she hasn't watched the Drama either. Does it matter if I have watched the Drama in this context?! I don't think so. I feel superior? Where did you get that? Because I gently criticized her being defensive in a silly way and asked her to defend against the criticism properly? P.S - I really wanted to know if the OG commenter was being dishonest

What a great clapback (for a 10 year old except for a few exeptional cases)! I get your point. But if you use this type of sarcasm for a fairly reasonable and not too hateful comment, it means that no one can criticize the screenwriters or the characters written for a specific story/drama because then anyone can just say "Why don't YOU write the script then, smartass?" I haven't watched the drama yet. So, I would like it if you would explain why her point of view on those things maybe biased or wrong as a whole. -Sincerely
This "U.S is home to 2.3 million Korean Americans and Canada is home to 160,000 Korean Canadian" might…
Facts don't care about feelings! And, US is a bully no doubt. But it is not a dictatorship, as it is accountable to its citizens. It has not supressed or killed its citizens like the Iranian Ayatollah. Free Speech is still protected in the US, unlike the now fallen UK. Citizens get to vote to choose their leader. Even if the world doesn't like Trump, he was rightfully made the President by the citizens. You might think that the US is outrageous and rightly so. Regardless, the govt has not gone out of the bounds of the US constitution. International Laws!? That's a different matter.

Of course it is. "The West" is generally known as the combination of Western/Northern Europe, Australia, North America and others. Reasons being: USA is a democratic and a capitalist country. It has common culture, economy, history and religion (being Christianity) with the other Western Countries. Most importantly, USA has its origin tied to The United Kingdom and was leading the Cold War against USSR. You can even consider US the leader of the Western front. Which countries do you consider as the "Western Countries"?
i hope matthew is from a different country other than the united states... like, crazy thought... canada.
This "U.S is home to 2.3 million Korean Americans and Canada is home to 160,000 Korean Canadian" might explain why US is the usual trope. And, US is better known by the whole world Im not saying 'they should keep US as the only choice for a western country in K dramas' but, yeah.
Oh Yeah? What did he say? The way you speak makes me think you are one of those moral police that bully people on the internet for issues that are made up of thin air. I suspect that Zhang didn't say anything racist or discrimanatory! But there will always be maggots that latch onto something basic and spin the "offended wheel" however they want.
