finally something to watch .enjoyed Jeremey last drama and this is so funny so far ...there has been draught in…
It shouldn’t be too hard, the novel is pretty good. If just for once they could resist the urge to replace any novel idea with the same old tropes as usual.
can some one explain about the synopsis I don't understand? is she married a another man other than male lead?
Yes, in Lu Yan’s dreams of the previous life she leaves him and gets married to her childhood sweetheart (according to the novel). This character hasn’t appeared yet, because he is a general currently off winning some battles, but he will appear later in the drama (I’ve seen the name in the list of characters). We’ll probably will get to enjoy the ML going on a crazy jealousy trip, because in the novel he gets worked up every time he just hears the guy’s name. He has lost her once so in this life he wants to make sure this doesn’t happen again, think insecurity multiplied by a hundred 😠
I'm sorry but I have to keep it up for Sister Gurl SR! I mean, Nancy Drew has nothing on her and Remington Steele…
Hehe, he seems to have a “must take his shirt off in every drama” clause in his contract, so he has to keep those abs in shape. And yes, we are all praying for Jeremy to finally get to act with an actress of his calibre.
how is this?... does it worht to watch?... i love how act Jeremy, but Lately, his drama are a little sour, and…
It’s a slow burn, so for the moment no kissing. I’ve never heard that he had a problem with acting kisses. However, it could be because recently all his acting partners have been little girls that he tries to tread carefully. Otherwise, the drama is very entertaining. Some suspense, a bit of humour, quite decent acting.
😂😂😂 It only occurs in the early episodes. No more fainting spells in ep. 7 + 8.
Yeah, I feel that they exaggerated a bit with the crying/heart clutching and fainting. In the novel he wood just feel an aching pain when she teared up but of course that would not have the same visual effect in the televised version. He also strictly forbade her to cry early on (without telling her why).
I just finished episode 1 and I’m not thrilled that Jeremy is once again paired with such a young looking actress.…
Well, in her defence, she is supposed to be very young and immature and only grows up due to the adversities she has to face. I agree with you that Jeremy would fare better if for once he didn’t have to babysit the acting trainee. I really don’t know why they are doing this to him (and us).
I liked the little background story that they invented for Shen Ran and Zhou Su’an, however her trying to undress…
Actually, in the novel Shen Zhen has to manage the expense account 😂 The emperor was aware of his cover as rich merchant and once he breaks the ring of corruption a lot of money will be recovered for the imperial treasury.
Well, as outrageous as it may seem from a modern point of view, in this age and setting the mother-in-law would…
In the novel it is not for lack of trying, but it is her who seems to have a problem. She even goes to see a physician and goes to beg some special deity. The first four years of their marriage were very happy. It was only after her father got arrested that Li Di dropped the mask and started treating her badly. That’s when she slowly starts to put two and two together.
What ido you find unclear about the dream sequences? Just why he is having these dreams or also the content?
I think it is because they have taken the whole fatal attraction bit out of the drama version. In the novel Lu Yan is a very cold and arrogant person, who has no interest in women at all and manages to drive all of his mother’s marriage candidates away with his poison tongue. Very charming! By chance he meets this little girl when she has trouble with a moneylender and he starts dreaming of kissing her, touching her skin, etc. It is something so out of character that he even investigates her for poisoning him. LunYan is very confused (and intrigued) by these dreams because they show a side of him that he didn’t even know he had. Then he sees himself die at the age of 27, miserable and alone and hears people suggest that he died of a broken heart because she has left him and married another guy. Naturally he would like to avoid such a fate in this life so he tries to find out where he went wrong. Later, the dreams also become useful tools to unravel the great conspiracy (that goes much further than the collapse of the canal). As he knows what will happen he can avoid some of the pitfalls and be prepared.
I liked the little background story that they invented for Shen Ran and Zhou Su’an, however her trying to undress to thank him for his help seemed a bit out of character. As charming and as protective as he may seem, I cannot say that I trust the drama version of Lord Zhou. The story between Shen Ran and her husband has been somewhat changed from the novel and it looks to me less coherent (or maybe it’s just because I know the other version). The reason Li Di’s mother treats He Wenru so kindly isn’t just because she is a bad person with an inferiority complex towards Shen Ran, but because He Wenru saved her life when she had an accident. J). The acting within the acting was quite amusing. Could we get Wei Xin get a spin-off where he can behave outrageously for 24 episodes? 😂 Sadly he got short changed in the drama version, because in the novel it was the emperor himself who sent Lu Yan on this business trip to investigate corruption, all expenses paid. Here his poor assistant had to roll his eyes so much at every expense that I feared getting a headache just watching him. I’m very much looking forward to the conclusion of this case.
