You guys don't take it seriously though. My personal impression is that Zhao Jin Mai usually prefers older male…
She is like 22/23 and the actor is 25/26 pretending to be 28. No real gap age

I didn’t expect to enjoy this one. Easy watch I binge watched it without getting bored and it was not supposed to be my thing at all. I usually prefer dramas centered on working women and people between 27-42.
Here you have 5 poor college guys in their early 20s struggling to understand young women. Male lead was like that clumsy puppy you have for a year that still pees inside regardless of the 4 walks a day, but he is still stupidly cute🤣

I believe a “teen” tag is missing here. Characters might be in their 20 but behaving like 15. Episodes are rated 7-13 on Netflix that the age range you must have to like it 🤣
Episode 13 and I am really bored I have fast forward all the gaming (80% of the content), male characters are very cliche’ and don’t think I can expect any growth from any of them. That thing doesn’t deserve more than 4.

The romance was not that good in it but still the first half was good as it has good comedy and in second half…
The stiff, cold, arrogant and distant man is an Asian trope that you can find throughout all east Asian countries dramas. Japaneses and Chineses have a tendency to keep the cliche’ for many episodes when Koreans usually break character after a few episodes or give background stories to make viewers understand that it’s just an act or he went through difficult trauma.

Yeah she took way too long to decide between the 2 men. I would have prefer also that her decision wasn’t connected to jealousy…but I think we do see jealousy the same way in western world vs eastern world.

I do agree with many of your points. I feel like the actors didn’t had good direction and the parts were badly written. No the first 15 episodes aren’t all in Finland. They took a plane to France, he said Island in the dialog but they were in Annecy for 40 minutes (across episodes 13-14 or 14-15) steaming themselves in a French car 🤣🤣🤣
I don’t believe production team worked with any tourism offices because they shot in public places, tram/metro only and used fake city names (Hull is in England for example, in his room there were a map of Finland but with a full fake country name) and didn’t filmed any monuments. In my country (France) if to do that and you don’t need anything you just need to inform the authorities but you can’t stop circulation or do anything that prevent business as usual you can proceed easily.
I also think most inside scenes in Finland were shot in Beijing the supposedly white foxed have American accent and my business brain is also telling me for cost efficiencies reasons you can fly to Finland that much Chinese actors. If it was my budget I would have fly only the 5 actors (2 leads, 2 cousins, the good friend, the guy who hurt his arm at the end)

I don’t think they did it in France. For me she was amused by the situation and thought about Titanic but as soon he mentioned if she remembered why the that car had much steam she became very shy.

I believe he has point because that bf might get it elsewhere…

On Amidst a Snowstorm of Love Dec 26, 2025
I have seen 22 episodes but I am starting to get bored.
I am certainly smarter than when I started this.
This drama taking place in Europe made me confirm that those cities in Cdramas are made up. None of my local Chinese knew any of those cities…China is gigantic but I was never able to find the cities mentioned in Cdrama on the Chinese map, I was blaming myself for not remembering the right spelling and just being able ton only recognize Shanghai. So they might have filmed in the streets of Helsinki, in a few restaurants, in French Alps and city center (Annecy) but the rest is most likely in Beijing. I am pretty sure that the snooker place in that “Hull” city (Hull is in the UK) might be in Beijing. It would have been crazy to fly has much chineses when most of them have no lines or even a name. The apartment I am 90% convinced it’s in Beijing something about the furniture cries
China and not European. Couldn’t have a close enough look on electric plugs and kitchen appliances to be 100%.
I educate myself about snooker. First snooker scene my first impression what the heck is that place some balls are missing. I was already mocking but second scene, it was still weird. As of yesterday I thought Snooker was like boxing there are 3 kind: American, French and English. With that film I have discover Chinese snooker - 8 balls. The balls are nearly the same colors as American but only 8 and the rules seem to be like English snooker.
And the imaginary Hull in Finland might be an inside joke as the Chinese (English) snooker team is lodged in Sheffield. The 2 cities are quite close everybody who knows a little about English sport knows that 2 close cities ferociously hate each other.
Concerning the storyline. I did find the beginning interesting and cute and love the fact it was so focused on the 2 leads. So basically until the laundry place scene I would say cute. Then for me the enjoyment drop as we passed the puppy stage of love. He progressed and was intense. He had that gaze saying let’s have sex right now but the woman was not playing the same movie. And I felt disconnected and annoyed. I don’t like when the innnocent act last too long. She was as most of the time on the passenger seat doing nothing to make the relation progress and pulling the breaks each time they could have a deep connection. And then they get back to China and the drama get focused on snooker on other characters that frankly at this stage we don’t. There were an old dude who spoke for like 10 minutes It felt like 10 years to me. The issue on that part if you want to film sport you have to know how to make it interesting. And here they did know. The matchs aren’t filmed properly or written correctly. Even people who
know nothing about basket always try the one point difference - one minute
left on the chrono …in basket world one minute left is easily 10 real minutes with maximum tension because those coaches are going take all the time breaks of the world, players are gonna make fools, point guards gonna used all their left brain cells to slow/fast the game pending on if they are winning or losing. Here the snooker games were boring because there was no tragedy. I am pretty sure those directors never watched a game on tv. As boring snooker games on tv are they are still more exciting than what they filmed.
So I am here episodes 22 wondering if I watch the last 8 episodes or go straight to the final episode.

Many people know that drama entered on the list of biggest flops on Korean tv (average 0.7%) and KBS worst ever performance with 0.3%

On Bad Girlfriend Dec 26, 2025
I felt like the writer didn’t know the subject or had no clear intent with that script. If you want to write a plea for polyamory do it properly make some research and don’t call it bad girlfriend (the title here is the same in konglish). If you are against it works on character’s development and make at least an end that proves your point. If you want just to make a light comedy without any intent try at least to make it really funny.
This drama is not funny, just a bad thing with cute actors that need money so much that they cannot recognize a bad script!!!

The best friend (Kwak Hyeon Hoo) but apparently trying to hook up with someone else too. Kinda weird because they tried to make it funny…but I fear that not many people got the vibe
