what do you think the main problems of this drama? for me it is too much characters with none of almost no character…
I totally agree. If the characterisation and the story were written better, I would be able to excuse the visuals and the bad fighting scenes. But everything was just so...empty. The characters barely had personalities to begin with.
I wrote this before ep 8 so the tone is too serious. Now my stance is that Ogwi got weak without his hair extensions…
The human love of Ogwi could have been presented better. And when a series relies on marketing his character as the main villain, you cannot blame the audience for being disappointed at the way he was written.
(episode 7) why is it impossible to follow what is happening in the past and what is happening in the present…
This is the first time I'm witnessing such an absurd usage of flashbacks in a kdrama. All of the kdramas I've watched so far have managed to balance the jump between the past and the present pretty well. Of course sometimes it wasn't done perfectly but it wasn't as atrocious as it is with Twelve.
I have watched the first five episodes. It's certainly a slow paced drama but I think the pacing is fitting for this type of story. I do not love it so far but it's pretty solid. I know that ultimately everything will become even more complicated and I'm prepared for many breakdowns but it's fine.
I wish that we're gonna see more of the girls' friendship though. I understand the importance of their relationship and integrated pasts but I feel like the love triangle takes the focus away from them. Eun Jung and Sang Hak are cute but honestly, their scenes are kinda skippable to me.
If the writers wanted to make this series about Mirr and Ogwi, they should have tried to build their characters and story from the get-go. Give me one reason why I should care about them when the writers never bothered to explore their motives and relationship. "Oh, but it's a tragic story about forbidden love and Ogwi did everything in order to be together with Mirr and...". Their characters are so superficial, even though they have some interesting traits, the series never bothered to develop them.
And as for their relationship, sorry but not only it is very shallow, I don't think the actors have good chemistry as well. Their interactions seen so wooden to me, this is of course a mistake of the writing but the actors themselves haven't convinced me at all. And don't get me started on that " kiss", I laughed so hard because they couldn't have made it more unromantic.
