I'm happy to hear you find my non professional review helpful. It's honestly felt like a half baked script. They had the concept so they decied to flim it before the author invested time in perfecting it. And omg yes, I multitasked whenever the investigation scenes come on. Like I literally missed out on nothing by letting it play on the background and I skipped through the romance after 7 episodes of sticking through it. Best decision I made.

The amount of plot holes and plot convenience had me lose my mind. I probably missed a few but here is my list.

1. The King said that time in the third dimension is slow so one day = 60 days at best (2 months). Which means staying in that dimension for ONE hour makes 2.5 days and half an hour makes around 1.25 day pass. 6 hours pass by if you stay there for 15 MINUTES, 3 if you are there for 7.5 minutes! So staying there for 1 minute will make a big change yet our heroes here be coming back and forth, trying to plant seeds, places balloons, acting as if time is going slower than faster. They even TRAVEL between the world using that dimension. What happened to time of the essence?

2. The moment they introduce the turning back time AND made Lee Lim go back TOO, I lost hope. If Lee Lim remembers that he slayed himself in the past which he proves in episode 15 (they turned this villain into a dumbass) then he could stop himself from getting killed by merely not going into the past. It needs both halves of the flute to Time Travel. I still fail to understand what went through this guy's head. If you have memories that you were a dumbass, I would avoid going to the past not only to STOP MYSELF but to STOP MY ENEMY from saving himself. Again, this whole thing is disoriented. Like one minute Lee Gon and Lee Lim realized older version of him saved himself so then he goes back but all of sudden, it doesn't work for the villain. He need to be an idiot for this to work... how CONVENIENT!

(Gotta love how this Flute knew EXACTLY what time period to time travel to, the 1994 when the villain could have went to 1993?).They had an explanation by conveniently saying it's the anniversary but they further prove how wack this is when they made him go to the past a SECOND time not that long after. Again, WHY NOT 1993?

I can come up with an reasonable explanation and say they kept going to 1994 because the flute broke that day, therefore, can only travel to that time. However, it doesn't make sense why they can't go before the death of the King's father. This plot device have no limits.

3. Gotta love the plot hole where the main couple literally had NO REASON to be "fated" to be. It's just Lee Gon accidentally taking her police badge and opps, CONVENIENTLY had it lost in his 8 year old self so he can "search" for the savior he was in love with before he met. If you are in love because she saved you, wouldn't that mean he should love himself since he saved himself. But you know? We won't have our badly written romance if we didn't have that moment, amiright? Why else would he be interested in her? That one scene rendered this whole romance useless.

4. There are so many universe yet everyone exist in all of them except Lee Lim? Wouldn't the flute exist in those other universe too? It's like the writer forgot to mention it. In one of the universe, the King is a tyrant so wouldn't the King of that world use the flute for evil? It doesn't make sense! One world is special, the others isn't? So where is the limit for this type of stories? All the possibilities is limitless if the author doesn't give an explanation.

5. Another plot hole is the ending. After they killed Lee Lim the past changed for a lot people by making Prince Buyeong save Shin Jae doppelganger and Luna meeting Seo Ryung mother... that's NOT supposed to happen. Killing Lee Lim shouldn't CHANGE anyone's past EXCEPT Lee Gon and Shin Jae. The connection ISN'T THERE! Shin Jae's mom would still try to make them both suicide. Prince Buyeong wasn't in there in that past so he shouldn't MAGICALLY appear all of sudden to give "hope". Luna also didn't have any reason on why she couldn't meet the mother in the past when she had cancer!

I swear all of this could have been avoided if the author spent few minutes to think her decision through. She could have made Lee Gon help them but nope, we need the convenient coincidence that only creates inconsistencies!

I'm such a lazy person that I never wrote a review before. But I finally pushed myself to write one on why this show missed the mark. This is a summary of what I wrote.

1. Too many pointless, flat characters. Prime Minister is the prime example here. You watched 16 episodes of a character who had no relevancy. What impact did she have on the plot? You will not be able to remember one instance that you could say she was relevant to the story that a side character couldn't do.

2. Too many unnecessary scenes. We didn't need the investigation. They were all a waste of time. All of them. What's the point of bringing up cases if the male character found out through other means? Take out the investigation scenes and the story doesn't change much. He finds out all his information outside of it. I'm sure if the writer was capable, she could somehow use a different approach on letting him find out the other minor information.

3. There were some people who complained about the female lead overreaction in the romance but I personally find the king to be the worst. He fall in love with her BADGE! By 2nd episode, the guy is head over heels even tho episode 1 ended with him meeting her for the FIRST time... that's literally my biggest issue with the romance. The way it started ruined everything.

I want to speak about plothole and the million plot CONVENIENCE this show decided to put but I'll leave it in another comment because they are heavy spoilers.

The moment I saw her kick in the first episode, I knew she would be a damsel in distress. K-dramas always bring female fighters in the first episode but reduce them into nothing by the second episode. This is also a pet peeve of mine.

Same here. If its repeated then I'll probably drop but most of the time, I look at what impacts the story the most.

Based on the comments, I would say a better comparison would be Romantic Doctor s2. The guy kissed the girl non consensual to stop her from talking. You can use that for your future arguements.

I remember commenting about how she sexually harrassed him. Actually, I made many offensive comments during that drama about how hypocritical and double standard the people watching that drama are so I have enemies from there. Anyway, I haven't seen this drama yet but it's too board to say if people who are uncomfortable are the same who enjoyed IC.

They meet like once every week (before he comes on Friday) yet she be acting as if she haven't seen him in 5 years lol

I lost so much brain cells watching episode 14. My sister said she liked that "twist" but that's literally the stupidest twist I've seen by far even though I knew it was heading towards that direction. The king and the villain must have a minus IQ to do what they did. Throw this whole story away.

Woo Dohwan is really making this worth my time with EunSup and Yeong personality differences. I become a disgusting fangirl whenever he comes on.

Fantasy are a huge hit or miss. I'm not surprised locals don't like it.

The doppelganger is the only uniqueness this show is ever gonna have because other than that it follows a lot of the Time Travel style stories. It's like a mixture of Queen In Hyun's Man and Faith. Then add your typical romance usually found in most fantasy stories and the detectives shows, you get this. I don't see this and think, "Wow what a refreshing plot." Because they didn't keep it interesting.

I marathoned 7 episodes today and this show got really boring pretty quickly. People were saying that people may not like it because the Parallel Universe maybe confusing... like where? I'm watching this with half brain and I can understand the plot well. This show definitely have issues. I see why people didn't like it. Its very cliche K-drama style.

Lol sounds like a user I saw during Itaewon Class. These hyped shows got some of the most fanatic fans.

Can't wait till this show comes in my country's Netflix so I can see why it have negative feedbacks. Usually, fans in MDL don't have much high standards (no offense) so like this is quite new.
