Ask me anything about the novel since it ended ! if you want to know
I personally think people who dislike the drama would dislike the novel as well... If they are looking for a strong male-lead type character.
The novel is really focused on Lifei, she is the strongest character by far compared to everyone. Most of the novel, you are looking through things in her POV.
I appreciate Lifei and LXY's story and what they went through. But as a lead male character, LXY isn't my favorite. Actually, throughout the novel, most of the male characters are really questionable.
However, as much as I dislike LXY as a character, his romance with Lifei was really cute... It's pretty much like those cutsy teenage romances. Cause it was they were 16-17 and 17-18,
The Drama, as I say, when it started airing, focused more on the romance than on Lifei's journey.
So it's just different, I think the drama would be better if they had 7 more episodes to add detail, but maybe not cause even with 7 episodes, some people still say it drags.
Novel 8/10 For the world building and Lifei Journey Drama 6.5/10. Questionable at best. Since the ending follows the novel to a T, why did we have all those weird misunderstandings between Lifei and LX? Their cute romance is what really made the novel. We GOT ZERO almost zero of that..... instead, we get more TZ scenes with Lifei.... when Lifei distances herself from him after TZ faces the illusion in the novel.
At least it ended the way the novel did... more people had to die than needed, though.
Sadly, Lifei is a shell of herself compared to her character in the novel....they really just don't like strong female characters in this one, or Siba just really hates JJY.
Like if they were gonna made all these changes to JXY character... at least adjust more... why are we going 50/50 novel and original script?
It just turn into a jumbo mess.... then you literally just stick to the original novel ending anyway 🙄
About Yecha, they kinda answer it if you didn't catch it. Also, you guys might have missed it since they never…
Hu Jia Ping recounts his story to A'Mu, stating that he was a Yecha, which is part of the novel.
But in the drama's flashback, they only ever show LXY; However, there were actually 2 of them who came during the last sea calamity (In the novel, this was stated multiple times): 2 Yecha, LXY, and HJP. What happens to HJP also happens to LXY. They were both struck by Qingcheng's special art, which reversed time for them. Both of them were reverted back to when they were younger.

I never once watch a drama expecting the drama to be the same as the novel. I know it is very unlikely. But a lot of people in the comments clearly never read the novel, and they felt lost. That could be because of the editing, maybe the 7-episode cut. But some of the adjustments the drama makes while keeping the novel element might not flow smoothly and could contribute to that.
But there has been an amazing novel adaptation though... Fate Choose You was night and day compared to the novel vs. the drama, and they literally just used the novel for world-building.
The scriptwriter could do that too, but they don't, because it's easier to have a lot of things set up already and just make adjustments. More and more Drama and novel adaptations will occur for 2 simply reason.
1 If the novel already has a following, it's just free marketing. 2 scriptwriters don't have to start from scratch
Are we going to see people dying every episode till the end.🤔
Yeah Sea Calamity was basically a world ending disaster that the immortal had very limited understanding of in the novel... so it probably play out the same.
TZ was still shaken from the illusion when he woke up. He was so shaken by it he end up by biting Lifei.
LXY got jealous and went to confess.... THEN he bit her! Then told her she was not allowed to heal his bite mark ! 😂😂😂
Then everyone basically recognized them as a couple afterward, and there was like zero misunderstanding at all from that point between them.

Are you still watching this ?.... I can't wait til you see Ji Tong Zhou and Jiang Li Fei's "wedding" in episode 30.
Like, in what world, if you watch the drama so far, and think that the plot in the drama is better?
I can't believe the scripwriters really doubling down on the love triangle

To be fair, I didn't think Rebirth was good either.
